I don’t understand it either...vodka goes down like water. Germans are no slouches the way they can pound their fabulous bier.

As pointed out by above posters, the absence of countries from the old Russian Federation and in Asia makes me wonder about methodology and participants. Upon going to the GDS ACTUAL SURVEY, released on 1 December 2021, the Daily Mail UK headline goes from questionable to ludicrous!

First it is an 'OPT IN' survey and as GDS says themselves at the very beginning, this survey consists of; "Data from 32,022 people from 22 countries were used in the preparation of this report", so while good intentions, for accurate measurements ... bollocks! Again from this report; "GDS data are from a non-probability sample and thus our findings are not representative of the wider population."

Thus the headline is tabloid and clickbait!

“...the Irish felt the most remorse after drinking,,,”

That’s probably because they do the dumbest things when they get thoroughly pissed!๐Ÿ˜€

Only 22 countries surveyed and glaringly Russia isnโ€™t one of them.

You got to that before me but read it again and see that it is an 'Opt In' study, NOT a survey, and there were ONLY 32,022 participants! Worthless in comparing the screaming headline!

“Is Scotland considered part of the UK?”

They’d like to think not but they are.

“Campus binge drinking is a factor of the MADD Mothers raising the drinking age from 18 to 21.”

Back in my early college days the local age was 18 for females and 21 for Bonemaker. Guess what the work-around was?๐Ÿ˜Ž

We don’t need no stinkin’ survey...empirical observation tells us all we need to know.

The Irish are social drinkers. That’s why they don’t need therapists. The English have a tendency to just get pissed drunk in bars. My daughter was shocked when she went to college and saw how drunk Yankee girls get. They were smashed before they left the dorm.

Russians drink because they are awake.

I considered myself a college drinker even though college isn’t really an ethnic group. It’s just what we did back then. :D

Being a cheesehead, I always thought this map explained a lot:

Rotary, Kiwanis, Optimist, & your local establishment. We grew up with it so we’re (most) are somewhat immune.

2 week vacation all over Florida

That sounds good right now. We went for a mini vacation (3 days) at Destin this October. The best part we met up with my BIL and SIL there unexpectedly. Blew our minds. They were just 15 minutes from where we were. We had a great time because I knew where all of the good spots were to go to.

My sis and BIL just treated me to 2 weeks in an oceanside condo in Fernandina last month

They’re moving to Jacksonville from Boise

I could get to liking it down there

My grandparents started snowbirding in Bonita Springs in the 50s, so it’s been my go to vacation place for 60 years

Loved a few days in Key West, but a bit pricey
