Columbia University president Lee Bollinger calls the random stabbing murder of PhD student Davide Giri on Thursday night “unspeakably sad and deeply shocking.”
It’s sad, but it’s not shocking.
Elite universities may prefer not to talk much about violent crime as much as they can avoid it, but they can’t protect their charges from what goes on in a freshly violent New York City.
Giri is the second Columbia student to be killed in a stranger-on-stranger attack in a supposedly safe public space in less than two years. In December 2019, in another attack just weeks before students were to leave campus for the holiday season, three teenagers targeted a female victim, 18-year-old Tessa Majors, in Morningside Park. They tortured her to death, holding the vulnerable young woman down and stabbing her.

People who have never had guns in their homes are buying them. Many do not know how to use or store them safely.
This is the direct effect of the Lefty Dem Commies who now run Washington DC.

Yet the Silicon Valley, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, New York, Washington elites feel and remain secure protected by armed bodyguards and security systems that exceed the capabilities of the local police. Sure they pay tribute to the gangs as well.
Liberals are certainly willing to sacrifice their own for their misguided dreams of a utopian world without property, police, God, guns, gasoline, meat, free speech, patriotism, CO2, or anything representing civilization as we know it. If it burns, burn it. If it can fall, bring it down. Human life is expendable to them, even the lives of their fellow communists. They think their goal is whatever remains when the dust and smoke of their destruction clears.

Nothing will happen until the body of a Columbia University president is found in a dumpster. Security on campus is one level below fat mall cop.
Every time I see guys and gals advocating the removal of police from campus I keep wondering if one of those gals gets attacked, who ya gonna call? One of those snow flakes protesting with you? Good luck with that.
White supremacy, real or imagined (usually the latter). That seems to be the left's current all-purpose scapegoat when confronted with the consequences of their coddling of criminals.

Liberals are incapable of connecting dots.
There is no cause and effect in their world, just random, unconnected events.
Or, as I think about it, it may be worse than that - they connect the wrong dots.
That is all true except for one thing-most liberals are vocally willing to sacrifice their own, but deep down, they all think they are not the ones who will be directly affected. They all think “Hey, I am ‘down with this struggle so it won’t be me.”
Then when it does impact them, they are surprised, astonished, hurt, and angry. Which shows just how really compassionate they are, which is...not really.
I agree with Dr. KING that thieves, welfare cases, and drug users SHOULD be judged by the content of their character.
