As far as the judges go, the good news is it shows McConnell probably leans conservative. But the real reason he was stacking the court is so that he, and his fellow Republicans, do not have to legislate. If the courts are going to legislate, he would rather they legislate from a more conservative position. All he was doing was turning over his power to the court.
