Alec Baldwin wept as he described accidentally shooting dead his cinematographer on the set of his film Rust during an interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos.
-snip-
He insists that he never pulled the trigger but said it appeared to inexplicitly fire on its own.
'The trigger wasn't pulled, I didn't pull the trigger,' he said, often having to pause to collect himself, or wipe away a tear.
'I would never point a gun at anyone at point a trigger at them, never.'
It's not yet known why the weapon was loaded with a real bullet.
'Someone put a live bullet in the gun - a bullet that wasn't even supposed to be on the property,' Baldwin said.

“...ummm its a single action”
You win post of the day.
As a certified CASTING DIRECTOR here in L.A., I will confirm this puke is acting.
Lemme see, he had an Instagram pic with his family all smiles before Halloween in costume, THEN does this?
We all know what kind of garbage he is.
Not a very good liar, is he?
Is Joy Reid going to make fun of him for crying, like she did with Kyle Rittenhouse. I think we already know the answer to that one. And doesn’t this moron know better than to run his mouth when criminal charges and civil lawsuits are forthcoming. His lawyers must be doing facepalms, like that idiot prosecutor did when his star witness gave testimony that was much more beneficial to the defense in the Kyle Rittenhouse malicious prosecution.
Tears. Right.
He’s an actor, hard to take those crocodile tears seriously.
Not saying it’s true. But heard an SUV was involved,,,, (sarc. or not?)
Cocking and pulling is certainly required. But nobody seems to be able to say what the exact replica model of the revolver is. And no one has said whether it is in straight-up stock, as-manufactured condition. Trick shooters at times have completely smoothed off the set sear so that a speed gun could be fired just by “fanning “ the hammer, for instance.
If this incident had happened in my neighborhood I would most likely have gotten the call to evaluate the condition of the thing. Happens whenever there is a question of a defective piece, etc. Guns get screwed with by ham handed novices. I’ve testified about hair triggers as well as over tight trigger pulls. If the gun involved has a hair trigger Baldy might be half right.
Supposedly the scene didn’t call for firing but did call for drawing and maybe cocking. We don’t yet, I guess, have any idea how many practice draws Baldy might have made but less than six would be a good guess? I’ve tested guns with triggers so light that brushing against clothing could fire.
In any case the reporting on this event is at least as halfa$$ed as any other example you might think of. Bottom line is Baldy deserves a serious beating and it couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.
Not sure the single-action weapon was handed to Baldwin by the armorer, but the defense team he can afford will attempt to find a way to introduce evidence (raising doubt) that the weapon was handed to him already cocked.
Or anyone and everyone who watches The View.
But you did, which makes you a liar.
An actor crying?
And I’m supposed to think this is genuine?
And whatever his intent was, it still doesn’t absolve him of his responsibility in the matter. Guns don’t fire themselves.
Reminds me of the scene when Carl Reiner got an actor killed because of bad judgment.

But most of the idiots out there will not be aware of that fact. Smart Alec is trying to shift the blame to the gun ... it just up and fired at that poor girl...it even shifted the aim to hit the girl.
True - Joy won't even mention a professional actor (who can dial up tears on demand), who cries during an interview. But she may very well blame 'the racist white supremacist system' for producing the gun, claim it's a miracle dozens of black lives weren't tragically ended by it, and demand that all white people apologize for letting it happen...
That crying is about his career being over.
Did not know that, but an interview seems reckless. Any little misstep & he’s screwed.
“I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger’”
Well, you did that time Alec. If... as it supposed to be..it was a Colt SAA replica, the hammer would have to be eared back before it could be fired. Who did that Alec? And then it went off without anyone touching the trigger? Amazing.
