Of course I did, but he met a couple, their son and miniature mastiff when he went out to get the mail.
They are renting a little cabin for the holidays on the next road over, he wants to take it to them, says we have enough around here to eat.
About that......
With son working in the Slaveway bakery I have to support him now don't I?
Makes me sad that my county is in the blue Happy Holiday’s, but we did vote for Trump, shock, in 2020.
Was planning on it but hubby wants to give it away too.
Also cuddling up in a cozy blanket watching a good flick!
Blue: Democrat run big cities and Indian reservations. Red: everywhere else. It would be very interesting to see a red/blue comparison of crime rates
Looks like we’ll have a white Christmas here according to the forecast. I’ll be staying out at my son’s house for the Holiday. There will be 17 of us for Christmas Eve. We had mom for Thanksgiving so my sister will have her for Christmas.
My little part of Oregon is in the Merry Christmas red.
Merry Christmas to all on the TRUMP TRAIN!
We’ll have a new thread for the New Year.
Yes, that’s the very best!
We would then be overweight and the initial charge for extra luggage is $200.
.....
Ya, but ya know the more expensive one is always better, especially if it 100 times expensive.
Sounds like you will have a wonderful time with family.
ENJOY!
That is so sad, Jem.
And outrageous too that you have to leave your Christmas dinner behind.
I am disappointed. I do feel good that I have spared my SIL her having to cook a dinner, though. With her health challenges, I think this will help.
That is true, I’m sure all your hard work will be much appreciated.
Where do you quarantine at?
New York bill to create internment camps for the unvaccinated pulled by sponsor

On Monday, we looked at a bill (designated as A416) that had been sitting idly in the New York State Assembly for several years which, if passed into law, would effectively create internment camps for unvaccinated residents of the state. A number of outlets picked up on this news and it began creating quite a stir, with reporters questioning the bill’s sponsor, Assemblyman Nick Perry of Flatbush. This turned out to be precisely the sort of attention that the Assemblyman didn’t want to receive. He began lashing out at people he claimed were spreading a “fire of lies and mistruths.” But he then turned around and pulled the bill, putting an end to the debate… at least for now. (Spectrum News)
The remarkable part of this story is Perry’s insistence that all of the outrage over his bill was the product of “lies and mistruths.” If you go back and read the portions of the bill we highlighted on Monday, the bill proposed doing precisely what everyone was saying it would do. While the legislation didn’t use the specific term “internment camps,” there’s really no other suitable description for what he was proposing. Putting people in “medical facilities” where they are not allowed to leave and potentially forcibly vaccinating them is absolutely nothing short of an internment camp.
Love that Greeting Card, wes!
At a hotel called “Swiss Belhotel”. It is near the airport in Jakarta and I think we’ll have a sitting room with a small kitchenette. I’m not sure. I know we asked for a grade up rather than the “cut-rate special.” Still 10 days with two tests, government forms and three meals a day can be a bit pricey.
A little funny story involving my dad. It is our family’s tradition to celebrate our Christmas Dinner with a linzertorte. This is the only time of the year one is made, but it is the crowning, and only, dessert available for this meal. Other meals have other desserts. As we four children have established our own families, each of us have continued this tradition. My youngest brother has taken responsibility of providing a linzertorte for my parents, and now, my dad. He makes it and ships it from his home up north and has it arrive the week before.
I inquired of Dad earlier this week, if the bro would be doing that this year. Dad did not know. So, I determined I would give Dad half of ours. But I was distracted when it was baking and it was a bit overdone. As I talked with him yesterday, I mentioned my sadness and my lack of decision and eggs to try again. He gave me the eggs. I suspected he wanted a cake.
Today, I took his half of the cake to him. He told me laughing that my brother’s linzertorte had arrived just a few hours earlier.
Dad now has two linzertortes to eat by himself. He will enjoy it.
Boy, dims sure get angry and nasty when they are called on their nefarious conduct.
Internment camps is another mans “medical facilities!”
Can we say FEMA camps?
You will have wifi so you can keep us apprised of how things are going, I hope.
You will really miss your dad while you are gone.
I had to bing linzertorte as I didn't know what it was.
The Linzer torte is a traditional Austrian pastry, a form of shortcake topped with fruit preserves and sliced nuts with a lattice design on top. It is named after the city of Linz, Austria. Linzer torte is a very short, crumbly pastry made of flour, unsalted butter, egg yolks, lemon zest, cinnamon and lemon juice, and ground nuts, usually hazelnuts, but even walnuts or almonds are used, covered with a filling of redcurrant, raspberry, or apricot preserves. Unlike most tortes, it is typically single layered like a pie or tart. It is covered by a lattice of thin dough strips placed atop the fruit. The pastry is brushed with lightly beaten egg whites, baked, and garnished with nuts.
SO YUMMY!!
