Thinking we should check in to see how things are going with the vax mandates for jobs.
Specifically, those who don’t want a jab.
Are you in conundrums from this? Possibly losing your job? Forcing you to come up with exemptions, or take testing that’s a big hassle, all so you can stay at work?
What’s happening? How might you deal with it?
I DO have the advantage that I can be self-employed if I like. As a tutor. I shiver to think if I was still a pro engineer. My old plant went totally woke as it is and is forcing the vax…of course, it IS a fed contractor.
That was Newport News. Sad to hear they are part of Ingalls Ship. I interviewed there but ended up at Electric Boat. :-)
Fair enough. Also, if you just had covid, you cannot take he jab for 90 days. This gives you a larger window to make your move.
Nothing specified!
“ The U.S. military cannot operate without a vast network of contracted civilian companies. If enough of their employees are fired or quit, the military runs out of fuel, bullets, food to feed the troops, uniforms, toilet paper and all manner of supplies IN A HURRY ! ”
This is a problem for Jao Xiden…..exactly how???
I am a freelance contractor - some of my contracts are under threat over getting the clot shot. Nevermind I have had the coof and recovered. We are living in a time of zero logic.
Being self employed has advantages. Drawbacks as well, to be sure.
I’ve been self employed for all but a few years of my adult life.
Hey, I’m not mad at you.
I’m just emphasizing that these damn tyrants should PBT be demanding such ridiculous things.
Thanks for the input.
I understand there is a web site out there listing only jobs that don’t require the shot. Perhaps someone will post it.
It’s incredibly invasive- I can’t imagine at some point that you wouldn’t develop sores or complications from getting swabbed so frequently. I don’t think irritating nasal passages designed to protect you from germs on a regular is best idea either. IMHO
We need to all hang tough. Together we can stop this.
I applaud your open mindedness and thank you for sharing your journey and opinion. It’s nice to hear frankly and well, wisely, and kindly stated
I don’t know why companies can’t just accept anyone’s religious exemption request as legit. What do they care? Seems like easy way for both sides to get around this extortion amicably and hurts no one. Glad you succeeded.
Agreed!!!
Me too. Waiting on the VA to start not allowing access for unvaxxed vets.
I have until 19 Jan 22. I already have a different job lined up. If it wasn’t for the vax mandate I wouldn’t have been looking. Now, I have something better. Even if they rescinded the mandate tomorrow, I’m still out the door.
Do it Kev. 😊🙌
Got the jab because Big Co. threatened termination for stepping on Big property without it. I rarely do, but between mouths to feed and quarterly meetings on site I figured I’m not that anti-vax. Mad about it but have to pick battles wisely.
BTW I had COVID early on, minor symptoms, got over it, figure vax is useless on me.
