Additionally, there are black bears and coyotes. Coyotes in the East tend to be bigger than ones in the West.
There are also rumors of cougars and rumors of exotic wild animal pets that were let lose.
Not to mention rattlesnake dens and bull sharks in the creeks.
So, really a lot of things can kill a person in the Pine Barrens.
Oh, did I mention the Satanic cults?

I’ve been through the pine barrens in my friend’s truck. It’s not hard to break a tie rod end or a shock (or worse) if you aren’t careful. Some rough terrain in those woods.
