Too little too late. I have already cut them out of my Will.
I *had* great respect for the Salvation Army. I hope this controversy is cleared up, one way or the other. So if anyone knows what’s actually going on here, please let us know.
I normally give to them when I enter the store. I see very few giving this year. I wonder if it’s for the same reason as me.
Let’s see - “change your mind” (= “repent”) for your skin color???
How in the world could anyone possibly do that even if they wanted to?
We made our annual donation yesterday and asked for a refund today!
They are stating the claims are false. What proof do we have that they actually said what is claimed? Serious question. Too often such claims are made just to inflame us. Their statement was pretty emphatic.
Skepticism is the order of the day. SA is a very effective Christian organization. I can’t imagine that anyone would plant false information to harm the organization.
Do I really need a sarcasm tag?
The attached document is a voluntary discussion guide from the International Salvation Army. The tool has been provided through the International Social Justice Commission and is designed to stimulate gracious discussion among Salvationists who choose to participate.
*****
The desire is that Salvationists achieve the following:
• Understand and acknowledge the definitions of race and racism and how the social construct of race has affected society.
• Hear first-hand testimonies of racist treatment and come to appreciate the ways that racism has impacted fellow Salvationists.
• Understand God’s design for a diverse and unified humanity.
• Move from the flawed human idea of race and culture into God’s design and purpose for us to live as a unified, diverse and equitable people.
• Lament, repent and apologize for biases or racist ideologies held and actions committed.p3

Perhaps God spoke to you during your time of lament, and you have an idea of what you need to repent and apologize for. Please take time to write out or think about how you can repent and apologize (referring back to the six questions at the beginning of this session).p5
I’ll never say a good thing about them ever again
One March a tornado tore through a community near here. Many people were killed and lots and lots of personal property damaged. Instead of giving to a group to parcel out the needs, the hubs and I raided our closets for supplies, and stuff and handed out cash as we saw a need. Of course, we didn’t get a tax break. But I know people were actually helped.
Woke and liars. They just cut their own throat.
Let the bastards go broke.
As a white man, I am sick of organizations insulting me just because I am white, and then calling ME a racist, just because I am white, and THEN expecting me to give them money.
Well screw that and screw them.
They can get their money from all of the woke leftists and non-whites that have supported them over the years. Oh, wait...
I have been very skeptical about the supposed “statement” from the Salvation Army from the beginning. It just doesn’t sound like them and it’s not the kind of thing they get involved in. I suspect pure malice against maybe the most effective charitable organization out there is at the root of this.
Then why do they have it on their own web site?

They are panicking now because word is getting out.
"I'm sorry for being white!"
It reads like a non-denial denial. People mis represnted what we wrote (paraphrase).
Judge for yourself but it seems they have become “woke” and were not prepared for the backlash.
Heard today the Salvation Army Riverview Florida will not feed a person if they don’t have the jab.
We used to have some neighbors who were SA missionaries. The guy was pleasant enough. Side story. He had a small fishing boat named “Visitation.” You can complete the story of what his wife would say if people called him on the phone while he was fishing.
His kids came to my house selling something for a fundraiser. I was broke at the time and didn’t have any cash in the house. The kids never talked with my kids again. Talk about holding a grudge.
In the past, I have always dropped a few dollars into every Salvation Army basket I passed going into or leaving a
store.
Methinks, I will pass this year.
I will entertain them weaseling out. Let’s see what the message is.
