‘General Hospital’ Actor Fired After 30 Years for Refusing COVID-19 Vaccine
“General Hospital” actor Steve Burton revealed this week that he was fired from the show for refusing to get vaccinated against COVID-19. He has starred on the show since 1991.
In a video shared to Instagram on Tuesday, Burton said that his employer let him go because he did not comply with ABC’s vaccine mandate. He explained that he’d applied for both medical and religious exemptions, which were denied.

If they had thought about it....just have a 5-episode ‘he’s-dying’ and bring some nurse to weep up a storm, and rush in some new doctor (Doctor Hou-hung, from Wuhan) to attempt to save him at the end. Then slip in some fed official to suggest if he’d just vax’ed-up....things would have gone differently.
Then bring on Joe Biden to say he knew the character while riding the Amtrak train back home weekly, and felt sorry for his loss.

The soap opera? That show is still on? Has to be from the late ‘70s easily, mom would be watching it when we’d get home from school.

Anything’s possible on a soap opera. They could say he was abducted by aliens, or bring in a different actor to play him, with no explanation.
Fired for refusing to show medical proof of vaccination
I live on Long Island New York and just learned they closed down a hospital emergency room near me from all the medical workers fired for not agreeing to take the clot shot. Never mind that they probably already had Covid and have natural immunity, they must still get the clot shot and to hell with medical emergencies. I wonder how many people in need of emergency help died because of that.
That’s because it isn’t about Covid. They are demanding proof of vaccination. If you get vaxxed in the hospital but don’t produce your card when they demand it, you are considered to be not vaccinated even though they gave you the shot.
If you are unvaccinated but produce a forged card, you are considered to be in compliance with the mandate.
It’s not science, it is obedience
At the moment, his character is missing due to a cave-in. But this is going to be a huge void. Between his firing and that of the Jax character (both of which seem orchestrated by Nancy Lee Grahn, who is a real horror on the set), it’s going to edge that much closer to cancellation.

My initial question (above) was purely rhetorical.
I haven't watched "General Hospital" since the mid-1960s, when our Negro maid would turn it on while ironing clothes, while I played on the living room floor.

That is: Fired for refusing to reveal a personal, private medical record to an HR clerk. (Gee, I wonder if the same demand is made for other contagious diseases, especially those of a private, personal sexual nature.)
