Animals do not appear to comprehend the movements of motor vehicles that humans drive. I've seen a lot of animals besides wolves dead on the side of the road. Deer, squirrels, skunks, dogs and cats. You name it.
I'm thinking that we need to build "animal tunnels" under our highways, so that animals will have a place to get across the roadways without having to judge how quickly a moving vehicle is bearing down upon them.
