We can’t carry squat, here, so we have to be
“situationally aware” to the point of watching everything in a 360 degree view, all the time.
Makes it hard to enjoy a nice leisurely ride when you’re constantly guarding your life.
I’m never bothered since I’ve been riding Triumphs and Kawasakis and such. But the few years I rode HDs I had some trouble... with car drivers as well as the parts falling off. A friend on his Sportster recently had some guy in a Dodge HD Diesel truck purposefully blowing clouds of exhaust at him when he tried to pass. Another reason to not ride those overpriced underperforming pigs.
As far as this librarian goes I’m sure it will turn out that she was put on psych meds. That is usually the case in these bizarre situations.
It used to be, “They didn’t see you.” It’s trending in a different direction now, with Oscar Grope purposely aiming for you to do you harm. Scary stuff indeed.
Add to that people who text and drive.
I commuted to work on a bicycle for the last 10 years (during the season, which is usually February to November). I decided to call it quits this year, because things are getting too dicey on the roads around here. I blame it on all the Californians moving here and clogging up the roads, plus they tend to be rude drivers.
