It's all about the need for 'myth.' It's what Eric Hoffer called 'make believe.'
One of the more remarkable phenomena associated with the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict is the presentation of claims that are unsupported, or even objectively false, as though they were fact.
Examples of such include the description of Mr. Rittenhouse as a "white supremacist," the assertion that he transported a weapon across state lines for the purpose of committing murder, that those whom he shot were "peaceful protestors," that he killed two black men, that Jacob Blake was killed by police, etc.
A common assessment of this phenomenon is that the media are more interested in narratives than facts and that the factually incorrect assertions are simply the excesses of a fevered political environment. There may however be something more consequential to the matter than a few sloppy media fibs.
Narratives have a purpose, and what we commonly think of as a narrative is what some philosophers previously referred to as a myth. The word 'myth' has a specialized meaning and purpose when used in this way, and this meaning was explained by the French philosopher Georges Sorel in his 1905 book "Reflections on Violence." Sorel described his meaning of myth as "an expression of the will to act." These words help explain why the factual deficiencies of the media narrative surrounding Mr. Rittenhouse are so prevalent and, in fact, brazen. The factual errors and omissions serve to promote a myth in the sense described by Sorel.
The key characteristic of these myths is that they are expressions of will. They are specifically not expressions of understanding, history or truth. They are not meant to inform or persuade, but rather to fortify and inflame the will to act.

Race war instigators is what many on the left have become. A variation of their failed class warfare strategy.
Make no mistake. They believe the lies. They are so blinded and so brainwashed they do believe it.
And, like Fox Mulder, they want to believe.
Anthony Matoria is missing the point.
Not only is Kyle Rittenhouse a racial supremacist, but so is EVERY white person in America.
Matoria just does not get “it.”
We are dealing with a Domestic Terrorist movement.
Leftists are lazy and make their conclusions without taking them to the actual ends, ie, there is a leftist meme out there that says it’s like breaking in to the polar bear exhibit at the zoo, and then killing all the polar bears in self defense.
They neglect to analogize that you would run away and the polar bears would chase you, and then you would only kill the polar bears that were attacking you and not burning down the zoo.
Because they have been programmed by false media narratives for 15 months.
Kuz thur stoopid.
Matiria puts a perspective on this I’ve never heard, but makes sense. It is precisely the myth you refer to that drives the delusion, namely that “all whites are white supremacists.” Some pick up on this theme just to stir up strife and divide to attain power. Others believe it deeply and will thus not accept facts and history at face value.
Because the MSM is a pack of collective serial liars. It begins and ends right there.
They supported the riots.
He fought the riots and won.
Of course they hate him.
He opposed The Revolution.
For the same reason why leftists believed such obvious falsehoods about President Trump. They don't bother investigating the facts themselves, they just rely on what they are told by CNN and the New York Times.
I had a leftist friend on Facebook insist that Trump told us to inject bleach, so I tasked him with finding the actual video clip where Trump said the word "bleach."
Obviously he couldn't. He found the actual video where Trump said that it would be interesting if the doctors could find a way to sterilize the inside of the lungs somehow, but no mention of injecting bleach.
Then I showed him a video clip of Vice resident Harris saying the exact line "Trump wanted us to inject bleach" and told him, "see how the Vice President of the United States outright lied about Trump?
I got a "yeah, but" out of him, but I think he at least licked the red pill.
But it ain't easy changing a leftist's mind.
They don't.
The lyrics from the song Okie from Muskogee spell it out clearly the left hates middle America.
Thats right. We are dealing with a Social Movement of Domestic Terrorists, a movement unfortunately promoted by the Coommunists who now contril the federal government. Those who are in this movement are cannon fodder for the left. It is unfortunate also that history that such cannon fodder has only one civilized thing it can do.......die for the cause.
America will eventually end this movement. We are getting close as we watch 50 car loads of organized thugs loot downtown San Francisco.
America ill not accpet the FBI’s continuing treatment of BLM as protestors when in fact they are committing acts of Domestic Terror.
This is over-thinking the objective.
Kyle Rittenhouse was supposed to be the turning point to end self defense with a firearm.
This was supposed to be the beginning of the Second
Amendment’s destruction.
The Left cannot overthrow personal liberty in America until all the guns are rounded up.
They have failed in that quest and they know it.
Pimping a hoax. RATS are good at it.
I am reminded of an incident that took place at my high school back around 1987. At the near end of the year, the second last day which was for all intents and purposes meaningless and therefore referred to as “National Skip Day”. On that day in June of the aforementioned year, the larger social crowd that I knew decided to have a big party up in Gatineau Park at one of the beach areas. This huge throng of teenagers thereby descended upon the area with the loud music and booze and very well likely also drugs. It did not take too long into this affair that the police arrived to break up the whole thing and get all of those kids out of the park area; certainly not at all surprising that the park authorities called them in as it was probably getting out of hand with the noise and other disruptive behaviour.
In any event, a few small minds decided that one of the vice principals at the high school who was to blame for why the cops were called in to break up their dear sweet little affair. Thus they looked up this man’s address in the phone book and one night went over there to pelt his house with eggs. This vice principal was a very nice and personable man I liked and respected that good deal and his wife was made very upset over that incident (as one can imagine). And the same sort of mindless reaction to the Rittenhouse verdict makes me think of those simpletons I knew in school with that party and then focusing their mindless tantrums on that person who was just their first and easy target.
They have failed in that quest and they know it.
***Oh, they sure as shiite will keep trying.
