The Food Network star has signed a three-year contract extension with the culinary channel. The deal comes weeks after network parent company Discovery “cut off talks” and planned to part ways with Flay after 27 years amid his rumored demands of a $100 million payday.
The fourth-generation Irish-American chef, restaurateur and cookbook author will be filming new episodes of his competition show “Beat Bobby Flay,” along with a new project, tentatively titled “Bobby and Sophie on the Coast” — featuring his 25-year-old daughter Sophie Flay, according to a statement received by The Post.
“Although these talks to renew took a little longer than expected, the important thing is that both sides are happy that we can now build on an already rock solid foundation,” said Flay, 56.

I went to his restaurant in NYC about 10 years ago, Mesa Grill, and came away underwhelmed. Wife felt the same way. Ran into him at a CT casino as he was there for a book signing, walked up to shake his hand, he looked down at me as if I were crap on his shoe. Screw him.
Beat Bobby Flay is one of our few favorite TV programs.

When I started watching Food Network, Emeril Lagasse seemed to be the top dog. It was all different then. Mario Batali was there, Paula Deen (Boy did SHE get shafted), and Alton Brown. I like Bobby Flay, he introduced me to Calabrian Chili Peppers and his show “Beat Bobby Flay” is fun to watch. What I like most about the Food Network is I get lots and lots of Ideas to use. I have two 3-ring binders full of recipes I’ve printed out from their web site over the years. LOL, I don’t think I’ll ever use them all but it’s nice to have them at hand.

Just seems like he’s probably a jerk. But I’d rather he marry my daughter than I even have to lay eyes on Guy Fieri. Just a bit too colorful for my taste
Discovery, like TLC, is mostly a wasteland of crappy, scripted shows. I don’t understand why people who cook food, are obese, have multiple wives, or mine gold, are ‘stars’. Their commercials are incessant and annoying.
