Frequency of laughs ignores magnutude of laughs. You would have to do another list with the loudest laughs. A movie where you laugh often may not be as funny as a movie where you laugh a lot harder. Then there is the laughing-til-you-cry factor.

To your excellent point, I saw Monty Python's Meaning of Life in the theater. It's an ok film, probably the weakest of the Python lot.

But when Mr Creosote exploded, I don't think I ever laughed that hard in my life. AND, people were walking out in disgust, which further fueled my laughter. I mean, it is MONTY PYTHON...what were you expecting?

I appreciate that scene even more after learning that Quentin Tarantino said that the Mr. Creosote scene was the only time he had been disturbed by a graphic or gruesome film sequence. What a wuss.
