The movie that made me laugh hardest and longest was Office Space. But maybe you had to be entrenched in that corporate atmosphere daily for years to truly appreciate it. I was — in H.R. — ugh!

At random, at work, I'll end sentences "....that would be greaaaaaaat."

On occasion, I've also said "it's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care."

FWIW, Human Resources pros have some awesome ninja-like skills when it comes to workplace problems...as I progressed through my career, I've come to appreciate them more.

Office Space was great.

The movie that made me last the hardest, and this included getting up and slapping the stairs going up the aisle, was The Spy Who Shagged Me, Austin Powers 2.

The scene when Dr. Evil’s space ship is taking off, and everyone’s comments about its “shape”, as well as the tent silhouette scene where Austin and Heather were pulling things out from the duffle bag, were thoroughly awesome!

Office Space summed up how I feel about printers.

The movie that made me laugh hardest and longest was Office Space.

Another great mention. That movie nailed the corporate culture of the 1990s. And yes, you really have to have worked in the cubicle jungles of a big corporation to fully appreciate that movie. Every big corporation had at least a few Bill Lumberg types who seemed to do absolutely nothing but walk around the cubicles harassing the hell out of the worker bees. For a while, red staplers would quietly appear on the desks of employees who needed to "step it up a notch" and be more of a team player. It was mostly in good humor but one of the recipients complained and so HR put out a memo ordering the practice to stop.

The TV show "The Office" is also a great show that parodies corporate culture. That show hits home for me because I work in a company where we have multiple branches with a big corporate HQ that would - at least before the pandemic - spew suits to the branches for "quarterly reviews" and HR initiated seminars for the employees. One time with hilarious results, we were subjected to a "safe driving" seminar after a slew of fender benders with company vehicles. After the seminar, one of the employees collided in the parking lot with the poor HR woman that was sent to conduct the course!

Office Space was like my first corporate job.

His boss Lumbergh drinking a cup of coffee while having sex with his girlfriend was hilarious.

One of my favorites. I worked with a group overseas who were all fans. One Major could do a perfect Lumberg while a Navy CDR did a side-splitting Milton.

We ordered the Office Space kit from ThinkGeek. It had an Initech coffee mug, a Jump to Conclusions mat, a tablet of TPS cover sheets, some flair and even a PC Loadletter sticker which we promptly affixed to our department printer.
