“No worst, there is none,” wrote the poet Gerard Manley Hopkins, about human states of mind. If he were alive today, he might write, “No most absurd, there is none,” about our current contortions of language.
In a publication aimed at dermatologists, the Dermatology Times, we read in an article devoted to the treatment of the skin in transgender patients the following:
Patients of reproductive potential who are not…abstinent with penis-containing partners, 2 forms of contraception are required.

Patients of reproductive potential who are not…abstinent with penis-containing partners, 2 forms of contraception are required.It is dangerous when this nonsense penetrates into the hard sciences. Are doctors going to deny male - female differences now? Will women have to submit to prostate exams? Will men have to undergo PA smears?!

There was a study out suggesting that dexamethasone doesn’t help women much in the treatment of covid. Mostly just men. And they lamented that as a bad thing, not as a good thing for those that it helps.

Maybe this will cool your mind - it’s my favorite of Hopkins’ poems:
Pied Beauty
Glory be to God for dappled things –
For skies of couple-colour as a brinded cow;
For rose-moles all in stipple upon trout that swim;
Fresh-firecoal chestnut-falls; finches’ wings;
Landscape plotted and pieced – fold, fallow, and plough;
And áll trádes, their gear and tackle and trim.
All things counter, original, spare, strange;
Whatever is fickle, freckled (who knows how?)
With swift, slow; sweet, sour; adazzle, dim;
He fathers-forth whose beauty is past change:
Praise him.

As if this were not enough, the rate of depression and suicide among such gender-diverse individuals assigned female at birth is already high—according to the article itself. A person can be gender-diverse? Who knew?

i have to strongly dispute the terminology here. 'penis containing person' is incorrect
contain (redirected from containing)
con·tain (kən-tān′)
tr.v. con·tained, con·tain·ing, con·tains
1.
a. To have within; hold: a bin that contains rice.
b. To be capable of holding: These barrels contain 50 gallons.
2. To have as a component or constituent part; include: Does the soup contain meat? The poem contains many famous lines.
3.
a. To hold or keep within limits; restrain: I could hardly contain my curiosity.
...
i am capable of holding it, (although not within the usage of this definition) and sometimes even able to keep it within limits.
More correct would be 'penis attached person' or 'penis bearing person'. Even 'penis sporting person', although that is a bit untechnical for a medical publication

It is dangerous when this nonsense penetrates into the hard sciences. It used to be that engineering departments at major universities were inoculated against this anti-science stupidity, but even that are starting to cave.

There is nothing right or write about these attitudes and the words used to promulgate this.
