I’ll tell my deer tale
We have a lot of deer passing through the neighborhood. This season we had two does with three fawns. They come around almost every day and the fawns have grown quite large.
There was one fawn that seemed not to mind the mother and would wander quite comfortably into or yard. It would come and browse and then lie down in a large patch of English Ivey for hours. Most days, the mother would show up and take it home to the nearby densly wooded an very large sink.
The fawn has seen me on numerous occasions and while leery, is not frightened by my appearance.
This morning it was back eating acorns. I stepped out and it looked at me and then resumed eating acorns
In some respects, to the fawn, my yard is home, where it grew up
I live in a residential neighborhood that was free of deer for 40 years or more
