By the time you read this, the issue may be moot but, as matters stand, it’s definitely concerning.
Anybody objectively watching the Kyle Rittenhouse trial could see that he should never have been charged. Witness testimony and video footage established clearly that Kyle acted in self-defense when he shot at three men, all of whom were vigorously engaged in trying to kill him. My worry from the beginning, though, has been that the jury will be so intimidated by the gathering mobs that it will affect their verdict. The facts seem to support my concern.
Despite the clear evidence presented, which should have led to a verdict in an hour or two at most, the jury did not reach a verdict on Monday. According to Jacek Posobiec, “Two jurors holding decision up, outright citing backlash, per US Marshall in Kenosha.”

If it’s true that a couple of jurors are citing future retaliation from leftists as a reason for voting to convict then they’re using the argument as an excuse for voting against what they saw with their own eyes, that Kyle Rittenhouse acted in self defense. Put me on the jury and I won’t be so two-faced. With me on the jury I would inform these clowns that there is no way they are going home with a conviction as long as I draw breath.
My wife was a juror recently in a heart breaking case and when I told her this story she said the only person who could leak anything from that room would be a juror or the judge himself. She said all communications were in the form of a hand written note, placed in a sealed envelope and hand delivered to the judge. Only the judge. Not sure if it’s the same in this case.
Anyone else ever serve on a jury?
True... but don’t rule out Merrick Garland making problems
They will lie to themselves and say "it's just one kid. He really shouldn't have been there and I fear for my safety and that of my family". It' like a woman who finds out she's pregnant and decides on an abortion. "It's not really a life yet, and no one need ever know".
If Kyle can risk his life to defend the rule of law then these jurors can risk practically nothing to do the same.
Yes.... I was a foreman on a murder trial. Our only communication was a buzzer. We could buzz and a sherif deputy would come to the door. We convicted in 35 minutes so I don’t know much more. I buzzed and he opened the door saying “ what would you like me to ask the judge”. I said tell him we have a decision. 15 minutes later I read it in court. And, somewhere in okc is the form I had to fill out and sign. I still have the jury instructions. That was 1991.
It’s correct. Rare, because it exposes the fact that the jury is only the final decision maker when it renders a not guilty verdict.
There was a fairly high profile federal case last year, I think one of Flynn’s business associates was accused, charged, and tried on failure to register as an agent of Turkey. Jury delivered a guilty verdict. Judge reversed the jury. Ahhh ... Bijan Rafiekian
I just now find that the appeals court reversed the judge.

Still, the trial judge does have that power.
Anyone else ever serve on a jury?

Of course, but observation says more, that after a jury renders a verdict the biggest threat comes from jurors discussing the course of deliberations with the news media. One or more of these jurors could be shamed into voting to acquit, but after the trial complain to the media that he/she was strong armed by other jurors. That would yield a mistrial.

If the jury delivers a guilty verdict, defendant lawyer will ALWAYS move for this. It’s a routine motion, but as I mentioned, rarely granted.
We don’t want to upset the terrorists by fighting back with the cops.
The leftist mobs are extremely dangerous.
I think if the “real” mob/mafia were to get involved they’d be supporting Kyle. I trust them more than the RAT party; in a weird way, the mafia is more honorable.
“And a mistrial declared. Hold the next one on the space station...”
No mistrial. No “next one”.
Judge dismisses the whole case with prejudice. Over. Done. IIRC, double jeopardy would apply, so no new trial.
That is, until the Feds decide to torment him, and try him in Federal Court to send him to Federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison.
“If there is a second trial, I fear the prosecution will not make the same mistakes this time and present a better sounding case against Kyle”
The testimony and video during the initial trial is a matter of public record and statements therein are admissible in any future proceedings. Gaige Grosskreutz can’t just change his statements in a future trial, They are stuck.
That said, this prosecutor desperately wants a mistrial so he can deflect and point the finger at the judge.
Since justice is obviously ‘for sale’…why wouldn’t the guys with the most money get involved?
Well, as they say, you learn something new everyday... :)
I’m watching Rekieta Law channel on youtube and someone in the chat stream posted “Police scanner in Kenosha reporting pallets of bricks appearing around the city.

Jack Posobiec is a hack “journalist” that was pushing nationwide lockdown rumors and then when that did not pan out, skulked away.
Take what he says with a healthy dose of skepticism until confirmed by a second source.
I’ve served on criminal cases, but you overlook one thing...the court officers outside the jury room.
I used to be fiends with a couple when I lived in NYC and they hear a lot. Some of the stories they would tell were hilarious, others were sad. They NEVER revealed which case they were talking about or named names, they just told stories.

Isn't threatening a jury illegal?
Prayers for Kyle Rittenhouse.
