By the time you read this, the issue may be moot but, as matters stand, it’s definitely concerning.
Anybody objectively watching the Kyle Rittenhouse trial could see that he should never have been charged. Witness testimony and video footage established clearly that Kyle acted in self-defense when he shot at three men, all of whom were vigorously engaged in trying to kill him. My worry from the beginning, though, has been that the jury will be so intimidated by the gathering mobs that it will affect their verdict. The facts seem to support my concern.
Despite the clear evidence presented, which should have led to a verdict in an hour or two at most, the jury did not reach a verdict on Monday. According to Jacek Posobiec, “Two jurors holding decision up, outright citing backlash, per US Marshall in Kenosha.”

You don’t think the US DoJ won’t swoop in?
A mis-trial due to a hung jury is fine. However it that is the case then the DA had better not try this travesty of a case again!!!
The only people that are facing or have faced legal consequences resulting from last year’s race rioting are two white guys, one a cop from Minneapolis and the other a brave citizen using the 2A defending Kenosha form the raging mob.
I think a not guilty verdict is going to come in this morning. They didn’t want to deliver it at 5 because it was getting dark and the riots would start.
The only source is the Poso post. While is sources are very good, sometimes Jack jumps the gun.
...just a slight change.
“In cases where the jury cannot act without outside influence the judge should be informed. And a mistrial declared. Hold the next one on the space station if necessary to keep the rats and their rat media out”
The Judge can and probably in hindsight should have made a directed verdict. I believe that is off the table now. I know nothing about the law, so more of a question, can he still declare a mistrial with prejudice thus taking the Jurors off the hook?
I’m in MN. The weather was decent yesterday. It’s supposed to get cold and crappy soon. They will have a verdict once the “warm” (40s) weather has passed through if riots are their concerns.
They are much less likely to riot in 20 degree weather.
Good post.
Oddly enough, hat pins for 19th century women were weapons as were blackthorn walking sticks in Ireland. A man’s face could be removed on the cheek side with a good whip.
ALl the more reason to find him not guilty...so that when the mob comes, you can go Kyle on them
The judge needs to issue AR15s to each juror.
Judge can reverse a guilty verdict from the jury. Judge can declare not guilty in case of a hung jury.
Judge has to step into the shoes of the jury and find at least reasonable doubt in the state’s case. IOW, his decision has to be justified on the evidence, not on the conduct of the jury.
That’s exactly correct.
It was a threat.

Spot on.. It would seem there are many in our nation today who are not willing to protect and defend the freedom and liberties our constitution provides for us... It's the same as cowardice in the face of the enemy...
If they have and we allow it to stand nothing and no one is safe.
YEP!!!
I'm not a stinking lawyer, but I don't think this is correct... (?)
