The schools are bad - very bad. My older brother never made much money in the '80s but his 5 children were home-schooled. Their toys, books, musical instruments and clothes came from 2nd hand stores but they were home-schooled. My younger brother took the public school route but paid close attention to every class and made sure to opt-out their children from every questionable class. They had to switch schools at one point.

Along with that, he de-propagandized his kids with history lessons and so forth, paying close attention to their homework. He told me recently it would be too much work today.

The parental role of moral compass trumps just about every other role, including breadwinner.

For years I have been saying that keeping your kids in public schools is allowing the indoctrination of them to become anti-God, family, Constitution, America, etc. The BEST way to get their attention is to remove your children and teach them at home. You might not think you can do this, but you might be surprised if you tried. There reallyy are a lot of great home-schooling materials out there, and most kids thrive!

Wonder if public schools are opened themselves to fraud. Here’s the evil trick that has been pulled on parents and kids who still believe in God, morality, and America’s founding principles: Schools, in their traditional role (prior to the world going crazy), DID have some legitimate role in inculcating a certain worldview. But that worldview was one that revered God, and which was intended to produce responsible American citizens. In fact, several of America’s founding fathers explained that the best reason to create a public school system was to educate them in Biblical principles so that they would be morally upright enough to make good future citizens.

John Adams, speaking about the Constitution, famously said: “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” A nation that provides unprecedented freedom for the People to govern themselves can only continue to function if those people are self-restrained, via an external moral code (i.e., one not corrupted by their own whims or desires). Without that, people will just continually redefine what is considered “moral” downward, in order to permit them to engage in whatever their favorite sin is without consequence. That’s precisely where we are now.

So back to the “trick.” Leftists have put decent, normal Americans into a corner, where in order to argue (rightfully) against the demented, evil worldview currently being pushed in the schools, many parents suggest that schools should not teach values or a worldview at all. So in order to try to throw off the evil, many conservatives are arguing that the good should be thrown out as well. I think that’s a serious mistake. We shouldn’t have to sacrifice our inheritance and birthright as Americans in order to remove evil from our presence.

Hubby had been a youth mentor for many years at our former church. He said his last two years the kids were completely different from all the rest. Every subject was greeted with questions like, “how does this,affect trans people?” Or “ what about the gay/straight alliance?”
