The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days. If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!
I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.

One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.
An author I am sure you all know.
If you need a clue ask the group to send you a letter to your private reply.

Kid from Queens, like DJT, and yours truly. If you drew a straight line from DJT’s childhood home, to today’s author’s, the midpoint would pass within a few blocks of mine.
That’s why!
He was amazing and amazing life story.
I didn’t know that about author, nor you.

“Idlewilde”. The current driveway entrance for the FAA Northeast regional HQ is about half a block from where I grew up. Today’s author grew up in Far Rockaway.

The wind in the wires made a tattle-tale sound
And a wave broke over the railing
And every man knew, as the captain did too
T'was the witch of November come stealin'

Solution to bonus puzzle (select the yellow text with your cursor to read):
Lake Huron rolls, Superior sings
In the rooms of her ice-water mansion
Old Michigan steams like a young man's dreams
The islands and bays are for sportsmen
And farther below Lake Ontario
Takes in what Lake Erie can send her
And the iron boats go as the mariners all know
With the gales of November remembered
Surely you’re joking.

My sister is flying in...my daughter asked are you picking her up? Which airport?
I said, no way....Idlewilde. She looked at me crossed-eyed.
