Vermont is one of the most vaccinated states in the country and has served as a model for its COVID-19 response throughout the pandemic. But now, the state is experiencing its worst COVID-19 surge yet, with several factors -- including its own success -- to blame, officials said.
In Vermont, nearly 72% of residents are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 -- more than any other state, according to U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data. At the same time, it has the 12th-highest rate of new COVID-19 cases over the last week, state data released Tuesday shows.
Vermont has seen a "significant" increase in COVID-19 cases in the past week, Mike Pieciak, commissioner of the state's Department of Financial Regulation, said during a press briefing Tuesday.

Would be interesting to see Oregon’s stats...radio here in Oregon brags about near 80% vax rate (one vax).
Because the vaccines do not work. Pretty soon Fauci will tell us we have to put our heads in mesh have bugs eat our faces. Maybe he will do that to the unvaxxed.
According to the CDC, 72% of that portion of New Hampshire's population age 12 and above have now been fully vaccinated, whereas 89.9% of the state's population age 65 and above have been fully vaccinated. In August, September, and October of 2020, of course, nobody in the state of New Hampshire had been vaccinated. And so what do we see?
In August 2020, New Hampshire incurred 14 deaths involving COVID. In August 2021, the state incurred 39 such deaths. In September 2020, there was at least one but fewer than 10 COVID deaths (i.e., for privacy reasons, the CDC does not provide specific numbers for a given time period when the death figures are between 1 and 9). In September 2021, there were 62 COVID deaths. In October 2020, New Hampshire incurred 42 COVID deaths. In October 2021, there were 106 such deaths.
While not as stark as the numbers for Vermont -- it's hard to get starker than going from "0" to several dozen -- the New Hampshire numbers appear to be following the same trend (i.e., post-vax 2021 figures are worse than pre-vax 2020 figures).
Now let's look at Maine. According to the CDC, 81% of the state's population age 12 and older has been fully vaccinated. For those age 65 and older, the figure is 95.9%.
In August 2020 (at which time no one had been vaccinated), Maine incurred 10 deaths involving COVID. In August 2021, the number of COVID deaths was 46. In September 2020, there were 13 deaths involving COVID. In September 2021, the number was 131. In October 2020, there were 10 deaths involving COVID in the state of Maine. In October 2021, there were 146 such deaths. With 146 deaths, October 2021 was the third highest monthly COVID death total in Maine since the pandemic began, behind only January 2021 (with 245 deaths) and December 2020 (with 204).
Meanwhile, the 124% of "expected deaths" (i.e., all cause mortality) in the month of October 2021 was the highest Maine has experienced since the pandemic began. The 121% "expected death" figure for the month of September 2021 is the second highest over the course of the pandemic in Maine.
Maine has problems.
Vermont will soon have a high number of naturally immune, if their immune systems haven’t been too compromised by the “vaccine”
Where has Brandon been dumping all of those illegals?? Inquiring minds want to know!!
Maine is their neighbor to the north ?
News to me, LOL

According to the CDC, 73.2% of Oregon's population age 12 and older has been fully vaccinated. For those age 65 and older, the figure is 88%.
In August 2020 (at which time, no one in Oregon had been vaccinated), there were 131 deaths involving COVID. In August 2021, there were 576 COVID deaths. In September 2020, Oregon incurred 86 COVID deaths. In September 2021, the state incurred 888 COVID deaths. In October 2020, Oregon suffered 132 COVID deaths. In October 2021 (with the data not yet complete), there have been reported 452 COVID deaths. The 888 COVID deaths Oregon incurred in September 2021 was the state's highest monthly total since the pandemic began.
The 147% "expected death" (all cause mortality) figure that Oregon experienced in September 2021 was the highest the state has seen since the pandemic began. The 138% "expected death" figure for August 2021 was the second highest.
Ping to DSHs informative, comparison stats breakdown, of Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine (2020 to 2021 comparisons).
Also...look at Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Netherlands and Greece....all with high “vax” rates, and, now with high china virus rates. :-(
Well, it's New Hampshire's neighbor to the north. In Vermont's case, Canada aside, I guess it's more northeast-ish. :-)
Guess the 28% of the unvaccinated are giving it to each other.
Thank you. These stats from CDC, right? Need to get to Congress critters and elsewhere.
[[ Vermont has the highest vaccination rate in the country. So why are cases surging?]]
Because covid has finally reached into the boonies- and is spreading there- likely spreading faster because of the vaccines-
Oregon had a big spike in cases in August and September, higher than anytime in 2020. Cases have dropped significantly in the past five or six weeks, but deaths are still high - in fact, higher than anytime in the pandemic on a couple of days in the last week or so.
Watch all seasons of Game of Thrones for the phrase, Winter Is Coming, to be fully impactful.
It seems like the total number of deaths due to the poisons labeled COVID vaccines are being included in the total number of deaths attributed to COVID.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out Meredith.
Yes, it was in that sense that I posted the phrase. Sarcastic hyperbole.
Canada in NewHampshires neighbor to the north
Maine would by a neighbor to the East,as it is to Vermont.
.
My theory. The vaccines ate not nearly as effective as they were hyped to be. Worse, after a few months, as little as 4, they are effectively worthless. There’s even data to suggest at 9 months they may be worse than being unvaccinated. Regardless, people who got vaccinated believed the hype and think they are protected. So they slack off on caution and preventative measures. Then they get infected at higher rates than the unvaccinated who are still being careful. It is a combination of worthless vaccines and human nature.
