Good advice. It might even be a good idea to close that particular Netflix account completely and re-open another one under another email using another credit card or debit card.
Start from scratch.
Right away, my wife gets a call from the MIL. "I can't get my Netflix" she screeched. I could hear her from the phone in the other room. I guess my wife had given her the login info and she was sharing it with other friends as well. Darn freeloaders! Boy was she pissed when she found out the reason she couldn't get it any more. I still get a kick out of that.
Dunno. During the chat session the agent asked those questions to verify your identity. You could have been anyone. That is if you were actually on the Netflix site.
The conversation you had with them doesn’t sound right, but the email to you is a standard header every time you log in. Test it if you like. I’ve already confirmed it. Could be simply the way it is routed through the system.
You don’t have to boycott everything- just the places who are making money off you/from you then use that money to try and terminate you.
Why would you give the hard earned money that you earned to a company like Netflix that literally hates you and wants to pervert your children?

I dumped Netflix after they put Obozo and the Mooch on the board, and gave them an ungodly bribe for “content development”.
We have all of those, and they have crap, too. Their leadership most likely is far-left but I’ve never researched that. There’s no getting around it. There’s a mix of crap and good stuff everywhere, and the bad guys probably are benefiting.
I could not tell you. I am not into it. I just know that a lot of people are.
Yeah but you don’t have to fork out your money to watch those channels. You pay Netflix to corrupt your family.
I have had those emails come to me before and ignored them because my history was only what I had watched. However, about 6 months ago I began seeing history of shows I know I had never watched so I called netflix and indeed there was a device being used that was not mine. So I changed password and that was the end of that.
I’ve gotten very proactive about cancelling streaming sites. Netflix and the rest depend on passive consumers who sign up for reasons that seemed good at the time, and ten years later they’re still paying an out of sight, out of mind monthly bill bundled into something. That’s how they build those huge user bases.
I don’t watch tv other than occasional sporting events, so I don’t have any regular shows that require a subscription. I do watch movies. My strategy now is to wait until one of the streamers has three or four films I want to see. Then I’ll take the first month introductory offer, work through my watchlist, and cancel.
Films that I really love and know that I’ll rewatch in years to come, I’ll purchase on physical media, Blu-ray if available. There aren’t many of those, but I’m concerned about something falling into limbo because the streamers are bickering about the rights or because the censors put out a hit.
The email was no doubt fake, but when you went to the netflix website and told them you had a problem and then refused to answer their questions, it made them suspicious and they locked your account. (I understand your reluctance to answer questions they already should have known, but that was probably their way of verifying it actually was you.) —Also when the guy you called wanted your debit card, it was probably another form of verification.
-I know we’re suppose to be wary of scams, but when you call them or type in their websites, you’re probably going to the right place.
