Get you some sleep and dream about tennis balls and the Trinity. Wish you were here. Miss you. Did I say that out loud?????
For those not in the loop: Mylife hosted the 9th annual Texas Cowboy Memorial Shoot at Mickeys south of Dallas on the Trinity River.
Eaker and Donna were there. Miss them. Met a lot of badass FReepers there. John was a no-show *HG*
Had a shit load of fun that day. Breakfast, Guns, BBQ, Guns, and then party.
I think I went through about at least 1k rounds of ammo that particular day.

I’ve been a Doc Watson fan since I got a copy of Ballads from Deep Gap in high school (still have it, too). I only got to see him a few times in the 70s, though. My wife is from North Carolina, and once was at a pig-pickin’ up in the hills when Doc showed up with Vassar Clements and a few other musicians. Doc heard her singing and called her out of the crowd to sing with him. I was in awe when she told me about it, years later after we met.
I always liked Camel Walk, myself. I only have two SCOTS albums (Dirt Track Date and Ditch Diggin’), both on cassettes. I really need to get my cassette music transferred to CD or MP3 or something.
“I have been to Fort Worth, mmm
And I have been to Spain
And I have been too proud
To come in out of the rain
And I have seen the David, mmm
I’ve seen the Mona Lisa too
And I have heard Doc Watson
Play Columbus Stockade Blues ”
Guy Clark Dublin Blues
I too have been lucky enough to see Doc Watson a few times in my younger days.
I don’t remember Doc playing that particular song, but I can check off every last one of those other items against my life experiences. (I thought the Mona Lisa would be bigger.)
