The free-good brain chemical serotonin is made down in the gut. Problems in the gut are going to mess it up.

Hmmmm makes me think…. I am quite OCD which is obsessive compulsive disorder and I fart quite a lot. I always wonder why I fart more in thrift stores. Thanks, science!

Sister in Law has had chronic IBS since teenage years. She is on an organic, non-dairy, gluten free, preservative free, yadda yadda free diet and is militant about it. (At Thanksgiving, “Who wants soy ice cream on their pecan pie?” followed by collective eye roll.) She talks about her IBS constantly. It’s strange, because she has tried absolutely everything except giving up her daily pint and a half of vodka, but nothing seems to work.
One of my sons has Crohns Disease. We could tell from his demeanor when he was having a flare up.
Often we knew before he noticed it.
I gave up Diet Mountain Dew and lost 50 lbs. and the IBS disappeared. Gained some weight back due to stress eating, but retired in there somewhere which greatly diminished the stress. IBS has stayed away for now.
Omeprazol worked great and was able to stop taking that, too.
