CEDAR HILL, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – Feral hogs seem to have the run of North Texas and in search of nutrient rich grubs, it’s no surprise that they’ve behaving like pigs.
“They chew up the grass, they tear up the landscaping and again, they present a hazard with automobiles,” says Jack McFadden of Cedar Hill. “We’ve had at least the first reported accident of hitting three wild hogs here on Lake Ridge Parkway.”

The city of Arlington (Texas y'all) had animal control trapping them.
Per SOP, the city was releasing the hogs back to the river bottoms.
Bad, bad, bad. Violation of state law; All captured feral hogs required to be killed.
City said: Let's take them to a Vetnarian to be put down!
Big expense charged per hog.
Finally, the city made the move to take the trapped hogs to Fronteir Meats in N Ft Worth to be slaughtered.
With the China Virus affecting processing plants, do not know what the city is doing now.
They are tasty.
They can be hunted any time, no limits.
But you cannot shoot within city limits.
Guess what? They figured it out. The best place for them is within city limits.
Plus, they have pretty thick skin, you need a big gun to kill them. So no arrows or small guns, which are sometimes allowed in these situation, will do.
They don't just disappear.
I say this because I'd love to hunt them, but am too cheap to put out the money for good night optics.
Prior to the reign of Hussein O. feral hog market to meat processing plants paid very well.
The best live weight of 150-250 lbs paid up to $2.75 lb.
The processing plants market was Europe export.
There was a small processor around Paris (Texas y'all) that specialized in smoked hams and bacon.
Happy hunting to all! Why do you need an AR 10? To shoot these bastards from a copter!
Part of a text from the guy who oversees the government chopper hunts over our ranch:
From oct 1st 2020 until sept 30th 2021 just in comanche county we killed over 6000! 2021/2022 should be double now that aircrafts and personal are in place.
Especially in the Dallas downtown and government. Many migrated North from Austin and Houston.
Are there javelina in North Texas?
NO!. Live trap them, as many as can be, and transport them to Washington DC and let them loose.
Homeland Security will only fly them to Florida in the middle of the night.
Biden will find a way to tax Texans for them...
Like the $4500 methane per beef cow reportedly in the BBB bill
($6500.00 for each dairy cow)
These ferals have hardly any meat worth taking. I use to shoot them with friends near Denton. Horrible creatures. Destructive and terrible meat.
There is a huge problem with them in Oklahoma too... friend of mine south of Muskogee says they are tearing up his backyard constantly. Unfortunately for the hogs, Jarod has a lot of guns....
You don't know what you're missing. I won't eat store-bought pork. But, wild hogs are great.
Nope. Compared to farm-raised pork, they are the equivalent of consuming wild salmon. They taste much better.
A Little Bird would do the trick.
You would be incorrect in that assumption. They tend to be leaner and make good ham cuts and sausage. Many get a diet of grains during the growing season and especially now with corn everywhere to bait deer. My family is hunting them 5 nights a week in Texas with great success.
Damned illegals.
