I have a few female friends who never married bc the men they met wanted them to “put out” but they were shy Christian women who were earnestly saving themselves for marriage like God wanted them to. Kinda average looking, but great hearts. Pushing 60 now. They would have been loving wives and mothers.
Sad but maybe if they had "put out" for someone they thought was otherwise a good man maybe things would have worked out differently. These women wanted the men to take a chance on them but did not want to take the same chance themselves. Christianity is a guide for life its not a stone cold law. If they missed out on a companion for life it's on them not the entire opposite sex.

Or maybe they have no interest in sex. If a woman is still a virgin at 60 that goes way beyond religion. That is a red flag as in danger stay away she is as frigid as a popsicle.
Amen. I know a few women who fit that description. They were relatively attractive, stayed in good shape, dressed nicely, and so on, but men weren't interested because they weren't "hot."
Also, I know of young women today who are resisting the pressure to "put out" and saving themselves for marriage.
It sounds like they did not have a large enough social circle.
Their strategy might work if they married young (late teens, early twenties) to men they grew up with—so that there was affection and trust already established.
But—after that they have lost all control of the situation—because then they are competing with women who will be more accommodating to what men want.
That means they would have to lower their expectations quite a bit—understandably they may not want to go there.
