Trying to shift the blame to the already hated by the left police.
And to this day I haven’t heard an explanation why a movie set would ever need live ammunition (except by their security people).

watch the liberal squirm...he needs to be charged with criminal negligence and really squirm..it it was you or me or john doe they would arrested by now.

Seriously. They used to say it "takes a man's weight in lead to cause a casualty." And that's with trained soldiers who are trying to kill each other. Baldwin managed to cause two casualties with a single round by accident.

“Police don’t know sh!t about gun safety.”
Spot on, they need a trained combat arms specialist from the Military. Those guys will correct quick if you do something unsafe on a firing line.

Maybe if their “armorer” was a real one, this would not have happened. The gun and ammunition should only be accessible to the armorer. Instead they had things laying around with no control over any of it.

Hire an NRA range officer and make a generous contribution as well.

Baldwin should use a wooden gun, dammit. It is all fake anyway.

Having police on a movie set to monitor gun safety? Really?
I thought the left wanted to reduce the number of police and transfer their duties to social workers.
How about Hollywood and the NRA get together and have NRA firearm safety instructors on movie sets and payrolls. Maybe some actual firearm safety rules and knowledge can be provided to the Hollywood elite.

He is shifting blame to the absence of a police state.

Who promulgates them and do they have a n enforcement mechanism? Hollywood unions have strict standards. If you want a quality work crew (Alec did not), you go with the pros. It costs more but it is safe (because of the safeguards) and you have a higher quality production.

"Every film/TV set that uses guns, fake or otherwise, should have a police officer on set, hired by the production, to specifically monitor weapons safety,” he wrote Monday.Of course, the other obvious solution is to stop making movies that feature the usage of guns.
There are plenty good movies that don't have guns, such as Moneyball, Trouble With the Curve, Gravity, The Martian, The Astronaut Farmer.

Alec Baldwin could have prevented the whole thing himself by either one of two things. He could have opened the cylinder to see if the gun was loaded or he could not have pointed it at a human being. Ignoring both things was just being a lazy slob of a man. He was the one who was irresponsible.
