I thought the left wanted to reduce the number of police and transfer their duties to social workers.

How about Hollywood and the NRA get together and have NRA firearm safety instructors on movie sets and payrolls. Maybe some actual firearm safety rules and knowledge can be provided to the Hollywood elite.

Hollywood unions have strict standards. If you want a quality work crew (Alec did not), you go with the pros. It costs more but it is safe (because of the safeguards) and you have a higher quality production.

Of course, the other obvious solution is to stop making movies that feature the usage of guns.

There are plenty good movies that don't have guns, such as Moneyball, Trouble With the Curve, Gravity, The Martian, The Astronaut Farmer.

Alec Baldwin could have prevented the whole thing himself by either one of two things. He could have opened the cylinder to see if the gun was loaded or he could not have pointed it at a human being. Ignoring both things was just being a lazy slob of a man. He was the one who was irresponsible.
