From the start, the pandemic has been responsible for spreading not only a virus, but polarization. Beyond the immense toll that COVID-19 has taken and continues to take on health and human life, the unnecessary social division that has accompanied the pandemic is a tragedy unto itself.
We are dismayed by the notable degree of skepticism and denialism about COVID-19. As Christians belonging to different theological traditions, we are especially discouraged that many of our fellow believers have adopted these attitudes.
Moreover, as followers of Christ working for non-sectarian organizations — a public university and a legal charity, respectively — we wish to set the record straight for the benefit of our non-Christian peers. Our message is simple: there is nothing inherently Christian about opposing the COVID-19 vaccines.
The Catholic Church , for its part, says there is no moral or ethical impediment to taking the vaccines, whether related to abortion or any other bioethical concern. Catholics in Canada have been invited by their bishops to be vaccinated since the start of the rollout. Leading Protestant ethicists have reached the same conclusion on the morality of the vaccines.
If the COVID-19 vaccines are ethically permissible, why do some Christians refuse to get inoculated? The leading reasons are well-known, and they are no different than those cited by non-Christians.
Some people have never accepted the gravity of the pandemic, or even its reality. So it’s no surprise that they would reject a vaccine that is, in their view, a solution in search of a problem.
Others doubt the safety of the COVID-19 vaccines. Among Christians who harbour these doubts, many fear the vaccines impair fertility. Despite the absence of credible evidence to substantiate this fear, it has acquired a firm grip on many individuals.

Agreed. And what we cannot forget is that the same people who developed and pushed these “vaccines” on us were the same murderers who insisted on denying the efficacy and use of cheap, proven drug therapies. If we yield to and justify their demands, we are complicit with their evil intent that can only be described as satanic.

I think putting faith in God, and not man-made solutions by big pharma, is a more Christian approach. These authors are hacks and suckers, going out of their way to plant stumbling stones of division.

Well, I guess that is up to you. I personally have never called it a vaccine... because it is not. In my discussions with friends, family and others (including any of my past posts here at FR, I’ve only ever referred to it as an EGT and those who get a shot have been EGT’d.
Regarding your comment about what a ‘vaccine’ is, you can be more specific.....
The original definition of a vaccine says this….
An antigenic preparation of a typically inactivated or attenuated pathogenic agent such as a bacterium or virus (or one of its components or products) that is administered (as by injection) to stimulate the body’s immune response against a specific infectious disease.
And with advent of the EGT, the definition has added this as a ‘part b’ to the definition….
A preparation of genetic material (such as a strand of synthesized messenger RNA) that is used by the cells of the body to produce an antigenic substance (such as a fragment of virus spike protein).
Others here may have some issue with the above and can improve on the definition. As for me, I understand what a vaccine is by going back to the very first vaccine... it’s a fascinating story....

What your numbers do not take into consideration is the absolute refusal to treat early covid with appropriate therapeutics. There would be far fewer deaths if doctors had been advised to use ivermectin or HCQ.
