Manchin blows up Biden's Build Back Better
Washington Examiner ^ | 11/01/21 | Tiana Lowe

**SNIP**

Joe Manchin, the linchpin of the 50-50 deadlocked Senate, blew up the president's plans to pass both the "hard" infrastructure bill awaiting a House vote and the newly introduced reconciliation bill. While Biden struggles to stay awake at the COP26 climate conference, the West Virginia Democrat said in certain terms he's won't even consider the reconciliation bill without a CBO score.

"To be clear, I will not support the reconciliation legislation without knowing how the bill would impact our debt and our economy and our country," Manchin said during a Monday press conference. "We won't know that until we work through the text."

Manchin has expounded at length over his concerns about the $1.75 trillion bill's inflationary and budgetary ramifications. Despite the White House's weird insistence the bill "costs zero dollars," few serious economists would believe that even a nominally deficit-neutral bill would wind up being so given its taxation of wealth generation and reckless cash infusion into the economy.

But here's the real tell for Manchin's headspace right now: The CBO scored the hard infrastructure bill and determined it would add over a quarter of a trillion dollars to projected deficits. Manchin not only voted for the bill anyway, but he also demanded House progressives push the BIF forward without waiting on the reconciliation bill. So, if the CBO score didn't matter to Manchin for the first bill, what's to make us believe it will matter for the second?

The answer, of course, is that it doesn't. If Manchin wanted a version of the reconciliation bill to pass, he would have remained silent until the House sent it to the Senate for revisions. But Manchin doesn't just oppose the bill. He opposes the entire "framework" of cradle-to-grave entitlements designed to reengineer society.

I don’t know...I still say he will cave in the end. It is because of him this even has the light of day.

If he’s serious about stopping this he should switch to being independent and leave the Democrat caucus...doesn’t even have to join the GOP caucus. WV voters would probably reward him with another term and it would show that he’s serious. Sinema should do so as well just to stand up to those following her into a bathroom, destroying her friends’ wedding, etc.

Manchin is in a truly charmed position at the moment. They can’t mess with him too much because if they do, he will go (I). Now depending on how bad they mess with him - If I were Mitch id be courting him heavily. I’d promise him the world to get him to flip to (R). There is NOTHING the democrats can do. Grab your popcorn and head to twitter :)

There is a 30 trillion dollar deficit. The idea that anyone in government cares I laughable. It doesn’t get that way unless about 500 legislatures don’t care. Joe isn’t one of the few who actually cares.

Did something today I haven't done in a looooong time. Bought something from McDonalds(McRib is back...yes I'm sick). Along with something I should not have done...used their App.

The process went smooth enough...for now.

Anyway, our local MickyD's had just been completely remodeled a couple of years ago, re-opened just before covid. I went to pickup my order and found the doors closed, drive-thru/curb-side only. Thought that was a thing of the past that had been lifted...but after some research it seems these places are having mucho problems finding enough people to work, so they shutdown their dining areas again.

If this is true...kinda goes hand-in-hand why the current flood at the border...these joints(and others)need the(preferably cheap)labor. Along with churches(losing parishioners)thanks to PC (G_d-less) indoctrination.

Somebody put the word out...

So we yet again have politicians setting policy based on the demands of their corporate/other overlords...or as the bent-one sarcastically said "working hard for the (certain) AMERICAN people".

Was there(California, late 80's, 90's) for the flood...coming to a (small) town near you!

Quieres queso con eso?

Viva Traidores!

Just saw the commercial... McRib is back. ... Love them. Heard on radio news that McDonald’s has raised the prices across the board by 6%. Effective immediately. So how much for the McRib?

He may hold.

He timed his statement for maximum effect today before the VA Gov race. If Youngkin wins, or wins big, that may scare the hell out of the moderate Dems. They are the ones who will lose their seats next year, not the Godless Pervert Commies ones.

I bought 2 McRib meals(w/fries, med. drink)...$16.50

(minus a $2 coupon offer)

Total $15.37 w/tax.

On the app it shows McRib only... $4.50

(and 520 calories, heh)
