OK, not much of a clue really.
The Greek god referenced was the god of the underworld, for whom the planet was named, a bleak and foreboding place. The terms [god’s name]crat and [god’s name]cracy reflect the fact that he was the richest of all kings, since he only acquired subjects and never lost one.
