Research in mice has shown that injecting vaccines into veins can cause myopericarditis. Chances of injecting into a vein are reduced by using a technique called aspiration (insert needle, draw up to check for blood, and then inject). Pfizer recommends using this technique in its vaccine literature. It appears that nurses and doctors in the US and UK are not aspirating when they jab.
My neighbor’s 2nd shot was a mess, she ended up bleeding all down her arm.
These are drug store employees giving the shots - they need to be taught to aspirate.
From what I have seen many doing the injections don’t even do a quick pinch before injection...I don’t expect them to bring out a caliper but a little bit of caution would be nice... aspirating should be de rigueur.
A few cm below the mid-acromion is generally a good spot... proper needle depth will of course vary for obvious reasons...
There is no reason for slip-shod work..
