Westbrook Maine Police Department t8tSc6404o10h36o25fg35rha6 · TRAFFIC ALERT: CHICK-FIL-A OPENING

A lot of people have been waiting for this moment - Chick-Fil-A has come to Westbrook and is opening for business! It will be open beginning tomorrow (Thursday) for customers. There is a lot of excitement for this event. Because people love their chicken, we are anticipating heavy traffic for the next couple of weeks in the Rock Row area, in particular Main Street and Larrabee Road.

We are asking that everyone please be patient. You will get your chicken. They won't sell out. They have plenty on site. Have a good playlist selected, and listen to some good tunes instead of honking your horn incessantly - it won't make the line go any faster.

Do not block any intersections. It is important that all roadways stay open for regular and emergency traffic. Within Rock Row there will be signs directing customers how to enter the queueing lines to get to Chick-Fil-A. Please follow these signs. Don't take a shortcut - as there will be no cutting in line.

Police Officers will be on site within Rock Row to help keep the traffic moving. Please be aware of them and follow their directions.

Thank you everyone for your patience and helping us manage the traffic so that everyone can enjoy this grand opening!

With a bit of sense of humor the Westbrook Maine Police Department gave the public a heads up about traffic at the Chick-Fil-A coming to Rock Row on the Westbrook Portland border. Rock Row is a new shopping, work, live complex being developed next to a former rock quarry. The hole is still there and quite deep. Original plans for an outdoor concert venue have been scrapped (the temporary installation drew sound complaints from all quadrants.

It’s about time it came to Maine. It gets cold up there and there’s lot of trees. But it never should have taken that long.

Popeye’s chicken sandwich is better.

(Exiting after throwing that bomb...)

But it never should have taken that long.

Since they are franchise owned, why didn't you jump into the ring and start one?

My recent trip south found most fast food places ONLY having drive thru service. Not sure if that’s covid rules or worker shortage.

But Chick fil A was the only one with a two lane drivethru running as super speed.

It may be, but you better bring your Glock or S&W cause those are all in the ‘hood.

Most likely because I did not live in Maine.

If you boycott every outfit mentioned on FR, you’re gonna need to become Amish for sure.

That’s great if you’re ok with a BLM shoe shiner.

When Rally’s came to my one horse town in Missouri in 2009....dang near shut the town down. Folks came from all around. Traffic was crazy for a month.

In principle, I agree Popeye’s menu is a lot better. Popeye’s problem is that quality and customer service can vary a lot between franchises. Chic-Fil-A seems to be a lot more consistent from location to location.

Its no wonder Mickey D’s and KFC are pushing new chicken sandwiches.

Chick Fil-A is taking em down.

You cannot get a Chick-Fil-A franchise just by throwing a pile of money at the Cathy family. It's almost like to Freemasons, you have to be invited. FRanchisees also have VERY few rights relative to other chains.

Now you can get a politically correct chicken sandwich.
I only ate at one a single time. High prices and nothing special at all.

Locally, they are extremely short staffed so you will wait awhile for your meal. Chick Fil A will have you in and out in 5 minutes even if the drive thru line is in the street.

Yes it’s a very unique business model in the restaurant industry.
But apparently quite successful.

I’ve never had Chick-Fil-A. I live 45 minutes east of Syracuse, and there are none around me. I think the closest is outside of Syracuse, and I sure as hell won’t drive that far just to buy a sandwich. We have McDonald’s, KFC, Wendy’s, Burger King, Arby’s, Subway, Taco Bell, Moe’s and an Applebee’s. Once in a while I’ll pick up some KFC, but never visit the others, because I prefer to cook at home. The majority of the restaurant commercials shown on Spectrum cable here, are for restaurants that aren’t anywhere near me.
