One of the things we were taught in class is that some people when lost in the wilds become fearful of the searchers and will evade them. They are afraid they will be hunted down and punished.

It is a very odd syndrome and it happens every year to people you would never expect. And they rarely will admit it afterwards, if they survive.

I have heard these stories from many different Search-and-Rescue people over the years.

Even the live person spoke 100% in spanish.

Robo message is automated in spanish.

Usually an ‘8’ will provide remove. This case it brought a live spanish tirade to my ears. I say tirade cause rapid talking in foreign language means nothing to me.

I didn’t wait to see if my english yelling was understood.

If the phone rings then the technology is two way. What you say would only be a governmental requirement, not a system or technological requirement.
