The US faces triple weather threats as severe tornadoes, a nor’easter and a “bomb cyclone” loom large over the country during Halloween week.
The US’ Pacific Northwestern states, including northern California, Washington and Oregon, have already been hit by the “bomb cyclone” that formed over the Pacific Ocean on Sunday, leading to a storm and heavy showers across the coast.

A nor’easter could be a bomb cyclone if the pressure drops enough in 24 hours to categorize it as such.
The bit threat is high winds because winds are directly correlated to the pressure gradient so when the low, the cyclone in technical terms, has a steep pressure gradient, the winds will be very strong.
As an aside, high pressure is technically an anticyclone.
It’s simply a descriptor of the circulation pattern around the low or high.
Actually, they can be. Showers is for intermittent rain, not rainfall amount.
Farmers Almanac is called for rain and snow for Mid Atlantic between Nov 1-8th.
And with enough leaves on the trees would be very destructive.
Lol. I thought that was a story of someone spending the night on Bald Mountain, NC.
Looks like a Nor'easter for Tues night into Wednesday in the Boston area. -Tom

The recent bomb cyclone was the lowest pressure reading of any recorded in that part of the Pacific. The weatherman said had it been closer to shore it would have been more destructive than the Columbus Day Storm.
There are forecasters predicting a deep cold storm in two weeks for the Glasgow climate conference! Snow and near hurricane force winds very possible. I love it!
To quote a friend: “Enjoy the weather, its the only weather you got”!
This kind of thing didn’t happen until atmospheric concentration of CO2 exceeded 0.041%
Joe Bastardi is one.
He’s funny on this one.
Go to the Saturday Summary halfway downthis page, just under their profiles.
So, are they blaming Trump or glow-bull warming?
Everyone trots our the Columbus Day Storm when they want to scare us. My favorite was the idiot on a local fb page that actually referred to it as the Indigenous People’s Day storm. This year, like last year was a nothingburger. Yeah, we got wind and rain, but so what?
Is there a difference?
They can trot out “Columbus Day Storm” every Columbus Day:)
I’d love it more if they would all confess their errors and renounce their efforts to enslave us all and make energy unaffordable except for all of them.
That ship sunk because of global warming too.... LOL
Meh. Trotting our a hundred year event every year is just climate-change fearmongering
Yea man knows what to do..sarc
