Doctors are often unaware of the only treatment for early Covid-19 (monoclonal anti-bodies)

On September 17, Mayra Arana made the phone call she says saved her life.

Arana had been vaccinated against Covid-19, but she developed a breakthrough infection. She feared the virus might kill her, since her immune system is weak after years of treatment for leukemia. Arana's family physician in California told her there wasn't much she could do besides stay home and rest. At home, following her doctor's advice, Arana felt sicker by the hour. Her husband placed a pulse oximeter on her fingertip, and it showed her blood oxygen levels were dipping dangerously low.

"I'm Catholic, so I kept praying," Arana said. Getting more and more worried, Arana called her oncologist at the University of California San Francisco. It turned out her family physician was wrong: There is a treatment for early-stage Covid-19. By this point, Arana was so weak she couldn't walk on her own. Her husband, a school bus driver and custodian, got her out of bed and drove her to UCSF Fresno, where she received four shots of the treatment, called monoclonal antibodies.

"The next day I could feel a difference. Two days later I could get out of bed and clean the house and feed my children," Arana said. "I really do think the antibodies saved my life."

An investigation by CNN shows Arana is not alone in her challenge to find monoclonal antibodies. Many patients who qualify for the drugs say their doctors never mentioned them, even though it has been nearly a year since antibodies were first authorized by the US Food and Drug Administration, they're the only treatment for early Covid, and studies have shown they can dramatically reduce the risk of hospitalization and death.

I'm unvaxed. In late September, I had a moderate case of the Chinese virus and tested positive. My doctor set up an appointment for me for the monoclonal antibodies and I was administered this treatment, which took about 2hrs. A few days later, I felt much better and within a week, I was back to normal and have remained so to the present.

I also got the MAB treatment in the ER. Made a huge difference. I’m still dealing with covid aftereffects - weakness and fatigue, but each day is better than the last.

Desantis has been pushing this out in Florida for quite some time.

Florida’s DeSantis set up monoclonal anti-bodies Centers all around Florida months ago so all citizens would have free access to this life saving therapy. Thanks for spreading the word - freepers need to know ahead of time where to go in their region - because time matters with this treatment.

Addendum: I received a MAB infusion, not a series of shots. Spent a total of 6 hours in the ER.

Sounds like CNN isn’t exactly aware of all the treatments for the virus, although I would recommend the monoclonals first.

An infusion is the standard way it’s given. An IV is attached to a vein (in my case in my wrist), and the antibodies flow into your bloodstream for about 10-15 minutes. Then a saline solution flows through the plastic tube to ensure that all the antibodies get into the bloodstream. From start to finish, it about 1 1/2 to 2 hours as they wait a while to ensure your vitals are normal.

People don’t know because media outlets like CNN push the vax, and nothing else is acknowledged.

We called our doc when we tested positive. The office manager, and I presume our doc, had never heard of it. We already knew monoclonal therapy was what we wanted to do if we ever got it, and we found out without her help where to get it quickly.

We got it at the end of July, before the recognition that vaccination didn't prevent you from getting it. I was not vaxxed, my wife was. We both got it from our vaccinated children, which kind of shocked us.

My case was really mild, I got less symptoms than my wife, or my vaccinated children who had it. Our doc won't see me because I am not vaxxed. Go figure.

We're looking for a new doc.

Doctors are stupid and worthless.

We have a clinic nearby that will give the monoclonal anti-bodies if we need it. Also we are stocked up on Ivermectin, Hydroxycloriquine and the Z-pack should Covid strike one of us. I am also taking a 81mg baby aspiring a day along with vitamin D and zinc.

Same here in Texas. That’s why Biden cut the supplies to Texas and Florida, he doesn’t like the governors.

The only Fauci-approved early treatment. Lots of additional early treatments that work.

Obviously the purpose of the CDC right now is to suppress any treatments for COVID. For those they can they use "rare risks" to get them shadow banned from use. For those they can't do that they simply pretend they do not exist and quietly ration them.

Why? Trump is gone, so while I do believe it started for that reason I don't think that's all there is to it. I think now it's because COVID is useful to the authoritarian left. So it must endure.

I have to imagine that hospital-based treatment of COVID using a combination of only vitamin D, zinc and blood thinners should also be considered malpractice.

That was my experience as well. They held me for an hour or so post-imfusion and it took a couple of hours to rehydrate me before they they gave it to me. Wasn’t doing too well when I came in.

Right, where are the incessant public service announcements? The reason doctors don’t know is that the information has been actively suppressed. It looks like the foundation is cracking, there are going to be streams of people asking , why did you let my family member die without getting this?
