FB is listening on your phone

I very seldom post anything but this is important. I have been working in high tech for over 40 years and have branched out into network security as a hobby. This weekend me and my support team discovered by accident FB can monitor your non-phone conversations by accessing your smartphone microphone. We are also positive that they are sharing this information within the FB organization and highly likely selling the info to other parties.

This affects FB, Instigram, WhatsApp and FB Marketplace so far that we know.

The fix is you MUST disable microphone access on ALL of these apps or remove from your phone.

It is possible that this is how the DNC was able to monitor Trump's conversations however I have no evidence of this.

Note that just going to Airplane mode is not a good strategy because the phone home snoopers can just collect info and defer the sending home till back online.

I love vintage cars, trucks, and bikes.

No bike expert though but I like the one on Granchester the mystery series.

I get my CB 750 to crank and run then lo and behold, I am almost out of commission by a pair of lung clots. By the grace of the almighty I survived and home recuperating, Believe me, I am most thankful.

Enjoying a 2nd season episode of Movin On.

As a kid, the semi was the star.

I’d love see a die cast model of the truck made. Every other TV vehicle seems to be there. The plastic ERTL kits are out there but I was never much of model builder.

This is old news. My projects long ago required putting the phones into lock boxes outside of the work area starting in 2004. It was known that mics could be remotely enabled and audio exfiltrated via wireless networking (phone, WiFi or Bluetooth). What has changed is that big tech vendors are monetizing the capability using voice recognition. I've seen almost real time examples of topics of discussion in my immediate area turning into ads on Facebook.

I’ve worked in IT for a few decades, most recently with LPR software. It would be very difficult to track audio as such. Anyway, whether or not they actually do it, I can’t say. I just know I’ve seen no evidence of this other that location stuff. I still have a FB mobile app on my phone.

This sheds some light on it.

Try “access dots” to see when your apps access microphone, camera, and even GPS. There is a version for Ios and android, here is the android one:

There is another element in place. GPS. Your location and proximity to businesses is being tracked and targeted ads are placed on your device. It isn't just your microphone that is feeding the data collection.

Isn’t geocaching what the Trump campaign used in 2016 to reach specific groups of people with messages that they’d be receptive to? I think I hate Brad Parscales or Don, Jr. mention that.

I now have a Oneplus nord smart phone. Fortunately it didn’t come with facebook installed and I never installed it.

However, we use Whatsapp to get videos of our grandaughter. So it’s probably still a problem. Frankly, I think I need to start putting a piece of tape over the microphone holes when I’m not using it.

“In my case it is my daughter in law discussing a unique” topic during lunch and when she went into an app on her smart phone she started seeing ads related to that topic, though she had never used the internet or her phone at all regarding the subject.“

Yes have seen this happen .
A topic we hadn’t discussed before , nor had done any searches or visited any websites.
Just conversation .
Not a coincidence

Many have long suspected this. It’s a little “weird” how you can be discussing a product or service, fire up your phone and immediately see ads for that thing on google, facebook, instagram, twitter, etc.

The CLOWNS IN ACTION— domestic division (which IS illegal) and/or the Effin Be EYE— are accessing the phones through the original program which became Farcebook.

It is DARPA Life Log. DARPA’s name for it— a log of an individual’s life, complete with narcissistic encouragement of posting all details... and listening to one through their phone (without a warrant, and without their knowledge)..

DARPA: Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)

The DOD.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DARPA_LifeLog

LifeLog aimed to compile a massive electronic database of every activity and relationship a person engages in. This was to include credit card purchases, web sites visited, the content of telephone calls and e-mails sent and received, scans of faxes and postal mail sent and received, instant messages sent and received, books and magazines read, television and radio selections, physical location recorded via wearable GPS sensors, biomedical data captured through wearable sensors. The high level goal of this data logging was to identify “preferences, plans, goals, and other markers of intentionality”.

Another of DARPA’s goals for LifeLog had a predictive function. It sought to “find meaningful patterns in the timeline, to infer the user’s routines, habits, and relationships with other people, organizations, places, and objects, and to exploit these patterns to ease its task”

The LifeLog program was canceled on February 4th, 2004, after criticism concerning the privacy implications of the system.

CANCELLED— riiight— then picked up by “civilian” intel namely clowns in action and the FIBBER Magees!

To name just a few off the top of my head.

Not to mention your land line phones and cable boxes since the 90's...

When you sign up for these apps, such as Twitter or Facebook, the fine print says you give the company the right to access to your camera and microphone without your permission or knowledge, their right to read your texts, right to examine your contact lists, etc.
