Behind the glamour, filming for Hollywood movies is notoriously dangerous, with plane crashes, explosions, falling structures and high speed chases all responsible for cutting short the lives of stunt doubles, actors and directors.
This was brought into sharp focus again on Thursday by the death of photography director Halyna Hutchins who was accidentally killed by Alec Baldwin with a prop gun on set in New Mexico.

This article doesn't include the 2013 fatality of a camera assistant on the set of the Gregg Allman-Midnight Rider biopic. In that incident people were held accountable (briefly); the director, Randall Miller, was sentenced to 2 years.
They filmed on a 'live' RR track, on a bridge and guess what? A train came. They were denied permission to use that track but they used it anyway resulting in the death of the camera assistant.

Thank God no one ever gets killed in manufacturing, racing, or other industries.
wow!
In 2014, after a two day shoot in Grand Lake Colorado - on an episode of my TV series - a PA borrowed my SUV to get smokes and never returned. By midnight, we called the police and hospital, with no luck. The next morning, the rest of the crew had left, leaving comedian Josh Blue and I stranded. We called a friend from Denver to come rescue us. As my friend arrived, the police discovered the PA, dead behind the wheel and parked in a camp area. He had died of a heart attack - at age 34 - and leaving behind two very young boys. Blue and I were in terrible shock. It was surreal.
Baldwin raised a weapon, aimed it at his target, and squeezed the trigger? Even kids are taught not to point a toy cap gun at another person (even if they are playing)! Baldwin did just that and killed a woman. It’s manslaughter, not an accident while playing!!!

It is this gun-ignorance that leads them to write such feckless anti-gun laws. All they know about them is what they have read and seen in the NY Slimes, so they only know about pistol grips, the dreaded "thing that goes up," and other cosmetic features that have exactly NO BEARING on a weapon's lethality.
Which is why they write such bog-ignorant anti-gun laws. And it's also why they don't know Sweet Fanny Adams about firearm safety. Their religion forbids them to learn it.
And continuing to handle firearms in the workplace without being properly trained in their use can have predictably disastrous consequences. It's two sides of the same coin.
N'est-ce Pas, monsieur Baldwin?
Perhaps INSTEAD of condemning guns and gun owners, Alec Baldwin should have learned BASIC gun safety! The REALITY is that he pointed a loaded gun at a person and PULLED THE TRIGGER! That is NO “misfire”, the firearm WORKED AS DESIGNED. HE failed to CHECK to ENSURE that it was unloaded. I’ll bet he did not even know HOW to CLEAR it.
