Every one has their opinion I suppose.
Perhaps if people were a little blunter to these "victims" they would have matured into nice people.

You have no idea how the conversation went down - the OP clearly stated that his wife wasn’t exactly sure of what she said. And again, you don’t know what the child said to the mother, or what was posted on Facebook.
Find it, and post it here. You are acting like a typical denizen of that wretched venue, and you should be able to find it.
(And quit trying to teach lessons to people who are verging on elderly adulthood. I’m sure you’ve made quite a few mistakes in your own life - and I very much doubt that you have always been ‘harmless’.
