Actually the people didn’t make this a political issue. Both Democrats and Republicans did. Admittedly the Democrats rolled it out as a political issue and the GOP had to fo right along in the opposite direction.

Give me a chance. We have to unite.
The thinking behind that statement, if Joe Biden is still capable of thinking, is very strange and a new conceptualization of what illness is and how people relate to each other.
Never before have people assigned ownership of a virus or bacteria to the person who in theory might have or get the disease. In the past people in our society have considered the virus or bacteria as a separate entity, and that which we are all fighting.
I don't recall Joe Biden saying that somebody with HIV was killing other people with their virus. I don't recall Joe Biden complaining about the freedom people had to give other people the flu. Including all the people who gave the flu to people that subsequently died.
If we apply Joe's thinking then we would end up blaming people, and groups of people for the deaths and suffering they caused because they happened to get infected with some virus or bacteria. That's a pretty ugly world he is leading us into.
Biden makes, purposefully, vaccine mandates political.
No one minds testing mandates- the tested appreciate the news.
Oh, but Biden has not supported tests! So he, and his supportive media, tell everyone to look at something else.

How can a policy that punishes millions for not doing something they do not want to do not end up being political?
