You can determine size (somewhat) from the footprint.
You can guess if they are plant eaters or carnivores.
You can not tell personality.
A Cape Buffalo is a plant eater.
It is neither friendly or timid and can not be tamed.
The cheetah is a meat eater.
It is easily tamed.
