I’m a sucker for secret menu items. During the few times I’ve visited In-N-Out, ordering Animal-Style fries (a huge upgrade on the chain’s otherwise crappy fries) made me feel like I was part of a clandestine club. Maybe not as secretive as the Illuminati, but close. I realize that the In-N-Out secret menu is far from secret, but there’s still a thrill to it. And if In-N-Out has a widely known secret menu, are there many more out there to be discovered? Turns out, yes—and they’re all in one place.
TODAY reports on Hack The Menu, a website that consolidates secret menu items from big restaurant chains and puts them in one easy-to-access resource. It features 20 major chain restaurants from Arby’s to Whataburger.

I’m just happy if they get the basics right.
Is spit a ‘secret ingredient’?.................
It is pretty good.
When I was on a contract in California many years ago, I was told how great In-N-Out Burger was, but was not told about the “secret” menu. The food was mediocre at best and the service sucked. I haven’t been back. It just seemed a very CA thing to be “in the know”. . .so shallow. So glad when I got back to Texas. No we have In-N-Out Burgers here, have never been.
I checked out Whataburger. Their fish dinner was not listed and it is something I order frequently. Basically, it’s 2 fish patties in a box with fries and tarter sauce. If you want texas toast, you must ask for it.
I should think the “McGangbang” would be popular in certain neighborhoods - emphasis on the “hood.”
If you're lucky. You don't want to know what the other secret ingredients are.
The nearest "hood" is about 45 minute drive away and I do not go there.
Our local McDonalds serves good (for a certain value of good) food. The one next to the express way is very hit or miss.
McGangBang might be popular in San Francisco too.
Chik-fil-a has an off menu 30 piece “family size” nuggets.
I like the FRESH vegetables (romaine lettuce, raw onion, tomato slices) that come with each burger. I like that they don’t over mayo the buttery toasted buns, which would make the bread soggy. My biggest issue with In & Out has always been their fries, which in my view are flat and tasteless. Any taste the fries have is similar to stir fried cardboard.
Fast food 40 years ago was fine once in awhile. I wouldn’t touch any of it now just because of the idiots making it.
Yeah... Rarely is the time I receive a complete order for four at ANY fast food joint. Something is always wrong or missing.
Stopped eating that crap years ago.
What’s wrong with you people?
“Secret Sauce” is exactly what you really think it is.
And that would make you sad.
So we do it for you.
Wow. So there are folks that have to prove their l33t creds at a fast-food joint? rotflmao Seriously, why would you make a fast-food worker’s job harder when they’re already having to deal with violent, hateful BS from customers anyway?
What’s the point of a secret menu? To create “buzz”?
