IIRC, Eric Robert Rudolph went more than a winter or two in harsher winter conditions. Likely, as some here say though, Laundrie will probably get snagged sneaking into civilization to get a double bacon cheeseburger and some fries at some point.... :0)
His parents secured him cover with family or friends back up north armed with a burner phone and a prepaid debit card. He’s changed his look and is operating in plain sight of cops who aren’t looking for him.
I don’t know about his skill set, but people have been surviving winters in the woods for millennia.
My skills are rusty, but I am pretty sure I could do alright with some basic supplies…and some dry fruit to offset scurvy. I guess some vitamins might take care of that.
Better question. Winter is coming and gas prices went up 10 cents just this weekend. How the hell are people going to get enough heating fuel.

If his parents are involved and are still helping him under the radar, qnd he’s still in the US, i suspect they already planned for this contingency.
My personal opinion is that he is out of the country. Mexico, Central America or one of the Caribbean islands.
Yeah that cuts both ways, doesn’t it! I mean maybe no one cares what you think. Before you voice your judgment on what people should or should not be I interested in, maybe consider just staying disinterested and off threads you think don’t matter. Because it’s likely your opinion won’t influence others who ARE interested.
Just go to Mexico, pay for a fake ID, and come over the border as an illegal, and get new US gov’t ID, social security number, green card, and welfare. That’s what I’d expect would be his best chances. Just blend in with the hordes coming over the border, heck, they’ll buy him a bus ticket to wherever.

I’m merely pointing out that Costa Rica, is a damned sight better than hiding and eeking out an existence on the Appalachian Trail where he could be captured at any moment. It’s not like he can just re-enter society in a few years when this blows over.
He could, for the most part go un-noticed in Costa Rica. Plenty of American ex-pats to blend in with, and no extradition if he does get caught.
This assumes he’s not alligator bait, or otherwise at ambient temperature.
Either way he’s certainly not found. I expect he’s hidden away rather comfortably if alive. I don’t think he’s out there camping somewhere.

If he has been on the Appalachian Trail he has all kinds of opportunities to survive.
I think he is hiding in some friends home and being kept under wraps and fed well and is warm and watching ESPN and lucy reruns.
