RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - North Carolina Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson on Tuesday again declined to apologize for remarks he made in June criticizing sexual education in public schools and likening gay and transgender people to “filth.”
Robinson held a news conference to respond to criticism earlier in the day from Democrats, including three LGBTQ lawmakers. He pushed back on calls from some Democrats and LGBTQ groups for him to resign and said he could separate his personal views about sexuality and spirituality from his daily role as the state's highest GOP executive officeholder.
“My spiritual beliefs about transgenderism and homosexuality is completely separate from this office, and I can keep it separate from this office," Robinson said.
Robinson reiterated his assertion that his remarks in June were intended as a critique of reading materials available within the state’s public school system rather than an attack on the LGBTQ community.

A statement from the North Carolina GOP on Twitter said Tuesday evening that “Republicans across North Carolina stand with Lt. Gov. Robinson.”
Republican Senate leader Phil Berger did not respond to multiple phone, email and text messages seeking comment.
Asked about the litany of past Facebook posts he has written about the LGBTQ community before he was elected last year, including a view he expressed in 2017 that “You CAN NOT love God and support the homosexual agenda,” Robinson discussed the need to remove highly sexual material from school libraries.
“Let’s just drop the whole Facebook thing and let’s talk about the subject matter at hand,” Robinson said.

He'll be a great governor.
Go JIM.....oh wait, that is not Jim!
The left hates it when people are honest.
Being proud of deviant sexual acts is mental illness.
Let’s Go Brandon, Trey, and Quinton...
Lolololol!!!!
Oh puleeze Rep. Allison. Your “community” is vastly overrepresented in our sick culture today and your type get nothing but platitudes. You are also the lead Nazis in canceling anyone who doesn’t toe the gay agenda line.
Save your crocodile tears for someone else.
Good for him.
Groveling to the Celebrate Perversity crowd is a losing proposition.
They are never satisfied.
He doesn’t have to apologize. He’s correct. Since when do you apologize when you’re right?
“Let’s just drop the whole Facebook thing and let’s talk about the subject matter at hand,” Robinson said.
Just like bernie sanders demanded be done when people brought up an essay he wrote stating all women dreamed at one point or another of getting gang raped- and the media was all to happy to oblige sanders and drop the issue.
I think it is a man...
Bernie Sanders’ rape-fantasy essay reveals left-wing hypocrisy
Consider this twisted scenario: A national publication unearths an essay written decades ago by a conservative Republican candidate for the White House in which the man describes, in deviant detail, women who fantasize about being gang-raped. He also writes about men who get thrills by imagining episodes in which they physically force females into degrading sex acts capable of making readers of Hustler rise up in revulsion.
Shock! Outrage! The National Organization for Women would launch a petition drive calling for the man’s head and other body parts.

Bang! On target.
Wonder is she commented publicly on the Duke lacrosse “rape” case...
All GOP has to do is go on offense and call it the P word.
It’s not gay...it’s not trans...it’s pedophilia.
Yeah...that’s a dude in a dress.
Gee, Dems never have to do that.....
I like him ...We need more republicans to grow a set of balls!!!!!
Homosexuality is damaging to civilization.
Lt. Gov. Robinson’s remarks were not “anti LGBTQ”, that’s more fake news from AP and the Democrats. His remarks were about three books which were reportedly available to young school students that contained images which were unsuitable for children at that age. Not exposing children to sexualized images and stories at a young age should be something everyone can agree on regardless of their personal preferences as adults.
As usual the propaganda media lies about what he said
