I assume you mean boarding passes. Paper tickets are pretty rare.
I always use paper boarding passes as I do not like having my cell not be able to connect or to lose the app, etc.
And I have 3 million AA miles so I am not a casual flyer.

What’s wrong with paper tickets? I'd rather have something in my hand. I've had paper tickets to ballgames that wouldn't scan, and who knows about the phone battery. Why add the possibility of trouble?

Most people have gone to having boarding passes on their phone. It’s easier and there’s less paper to keep track of. However, the answer to your question is nothing is wrong with paper tix.

I reverted to printing my boarding passes when on a Southwest flight, it was delayed and the QR code for my A seating group disappeared. By the time they printed me a new on, I was in C.
