One day after Gruden resigned as head coach of the Raiders in wake of an unsettling email controversy, the Buccaneers said Tuesday that they will remove his name from the franchise’s Ring of Honor.
“The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have advocated for purposeful change in the areas of race relations, gender equality, diversity and inclusion for many years,” the team said in a statement. “While we acknowledge Jon Gruden’s contributions on the field, his actions go against our core values as an organization. Do you recall how long ago a player first refused to stand?
And the seats have been empty ever since.

In Orwell’s “1984” the INGSOC regime could make it so you never had existed at all.
Don’t the cancellation people know they’re doing exactly what the terrifying bad guys were doing in that book about what a dystopian future might resemble?
They’re going to have to cancel that book (1984), along with Animal Farm and Brave New World.
NFL is dead. Players owners coaches stadiums cities tv radio ONLY in it for the money. It is a shadow ot its older self.
Defund it.
A private first class shows more bravery than most nfl players.

I don’t think OPENLY guys should play in the NFL so I’m a homophobe.
The one player that did couldn’t play well but got his victim card.
This is beyond ridiculous.

Priorities, ya know…
Gruden resigned as part of a contract deal no doubt. Go quietly and you get your money. NFL wants this to go away and they don’t like Gruden.
And Tampa Bay itself has a player arrested for domestic violence playing right now.
I guess actuall violence isn’t as bad as word in private emails. SMH

What?
They should be required reading; but the are likely (quietly) banned in a lot of places.
Never assume that your Privacy is actually Private.
Have they moved the Orwell Novel “1984” from the Fiction Aisle to the Non-Fiction Aisle at our Nation’s Libraries yet?
What ya want?
I agree.
