If a child is truly “gifted,” he wouldn’t need someone else to teach him. You could hand him a book and he’d learn on his own.
In fact, he’d be better off never attending school with all the bad influences there (yes, including in the “gifted programs”).

True. The best educated are the autodidacts, but they need some guidance, encouragement, and a library. The Internet opens all sorts of opportunities.
