Are you aware that the abuse among non-Catholic ministers is higher than that of priests?

Is this another Catholic-bashing thread?

Due to “ambulance chasing” attorneys.

Unquestionably the Church brought it upon itself, but the secularists are using its sins to shut down the church on a worldwide basis.

I’m sure all denominations have a history. But your claim is:

“that the abuse among non-Catholic ministers is higher than that of priests?”

So I guess you can name another denomination that has a “higher rate” of abuse?

And since you made the claim, I’ll be expecting sources. Thanks

I guess I’m confused, perhaps you can clarify.

Are you blaming lawyers for catholic priests raping little boys and girls?

Maybe you could explain that. Thanks. Because it appears that your justifying the abuse.

I know someone who was in a Catholic school who said two of the kids in his class were abused (according to the court) and at least two others probably were.

(I guess since you haven’t responded yet, you must either be conceding, and thereby retracting your false statements, or your doing a deep dive. Take your time, I’m patient.)

A distraction??? Do you realize the extent of the damage this has done. Should we just sweep it under the rug? Forget about it? “Boys will be boys?”

1 Timothy 4:2-4
King James Version
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

Yet, but another example why Sola Scriptura is so vitally important.

If the catholic church had not gone against the Word of God AS WRITTEN, and had not forbiden your priests to marry, perhaps it would not have enticed so many who ended up using their MAN given authority to abuse their victims.

I never said that. I’m just saying that it is going to be used to shut down churches whether or not they are guilty of anything.

Revelation 18:3-5
King James Version
3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

A well appointed gay bathhouse is not a good look for a religious organization - especially when it’s a child rape facility.

"Yet, but another example why Sola Scriptura is so vitally important."

Sola Scriptura is a doctrine of men. It has led to the division of Christianity into a thousand sects, and within those sects, every man is his own Pope. Jesus repeatedly said he wanted his followers to be ONE. You reject the command of Jesus. You support anarchy in the Church.

Wow, you actually believe that believing the inspired Word of God is against the Will of God?

You really believe that God would have mankind believe man made doctrines and traditions over His own Written Word?

He warned in His Inspired Written Word, that man is not to forbid marriage. Yet the man made doctrine you adhere to has done just that and now your having to defend your religious leaders for raping little boys and girls. All while they used the money given to them by followers like you, to pay to silence victims of clergy abuse, all while sheltering the abusers from perish to perish.

You might want to try reading the Word yourself, it might answer those questions about your traditions.

Revelation 18:3-5
King James Version
3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

The point is that Scripture must be INTERPRETED; many passages are not self-evident and are subject to different interpretations; many passages seem to contradict others; and different translations offer different readings of various passages. Different HUMAN denominations enforce different interpretations as a condition of membership. You are the type who sets himself up as his own Pope; YOU are the authority, and anyone who disagrees with YOU is damned.

You don't even know what my traditions or beliefs are. You don't know what I've read or what I've studied. You must be a mind-reader! Actually, more of a bigot.

Well thanks, but I’d rather place my trust believing in the Word of God rather than being told by pedophiles what to believe.

I’ll take a pass on man’s doctrines and traditions.

2 Timothy 2:15
King James Version
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

It says to study to shew thyself approved unto God.

Sure sounds to me like Sola Scriptura.

BTW, there is no office of pope!
