Stats and Predictions in Body of Comment.
My average over more than 30 years is around 60%.
If a favored team loses, just replace with the next highest ranked team to figure out the next predicted winner(s).
Remember my average is really good, but just like the stock market, you don’t bet on one stock or one year. It’s an overall average over many years.
According to the stats I use (Points For minus Points Against), the “World Series” (best two teams in baseball) would be the NLDS between the Dodgers vs. the Giants.
Jim Newell made a prediction, and I made mine.
The watchmen have pointed out there is no way mathematically this Feast of Trumpets (as established by God’s clock— not the Gregorian calendar) passes without the church disappearing. It’s all included in the link.
Could I be wrong? Sure. But the math doesn’t work out any other way, and that’s the point.
Kind of an Andrew Friedman WS—again. We just lost Kershaw and Muncy, so....
I am R-E-A-D-Y!
Cardinals can sneak up on you in Sept-Oct.
I got small boat....and it still floats.
Good! :-) I’ll give you another reason to root for them, I don’t know who was behind this but recently someone (probably the MLB) tried to get them to stop the chop because it was “offensive” to Native Americans. They tried to roll out “For the A” which was ridiculous. Fans were outraged. Fans started doing the chop more than ever, the players do the chop when they get a hit, and now they are back to playing the drums in the stadium for it. They also will not be changing the name “Braves”.
As a Red Sox fan, I want the Rays to win... 3 champions in the Tampa Bay area...That is if the Sox don’t win the wild card game...
Over nineteen games the Yanks are even with Boston, but weaker against mutual opponents and opponents of opponents:
Likewise, the Cards are weaker against the Dodgers:
We seem to agree, by slightly different routes.
Tonight or early tomorrow AM. However, no matter what, the TB set of the ALDS Best of Five Series, will be a replay of the AL East!
However, in a quirky thought, consider a Boston v Chicago AL Championship! Guaranteed 'Sox' win!
Nice.
I straight-line pick based on regular season stats so I don’t pick up end-of-season trends, injuries, etc. It would be too exhausting.
Hope for an entertaining post-season.
Well, Salvavida, as much I’d like your prediction to be true, I think you’ve got some problems with scripture.
1) “But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Matt 24:36. This of course refers to the FIRST part of Jesus second coming - the “thief” part where he takes his essentially Gentile church to heaven and the Israel clock begins again after 2000 years with Daniel’s 70th Week.
2) “[I]n such an hour as you don’t think he’ll come, the Son of man will come.” Matt 24:44.
Those references are pretty clear-cut. Your saying exactly when he will come says almost assuredly he will not at those times.
For whatever reason, as stated in Daniel 9:24-27, and later in Revelation Chapter 6 through 20, God has a clearly defined timetable for Israel and the Jews, but the times of the Gentiles are not made so clear to us. We don’t know the precise math the Lord is using because we are still in the times of the Gentiles.
Although we do not know the day or the hour of “the great catching up” of the church (and the Holy Spirit) we DO know “the times and the seasons” so that “that day should [not] overtake you as a thief.”(1 Thess. 5:1-7). It seems pretty clear to most of us Christians that we are in the end times and very near the end of the age when Jesus comes as a thief to take us to Heaven with him before it all comes crashing down.
Which brings up another problem with your timeline: Luke 14:23 - yet to be fulfilled as part of Jesus’ prophetic parable of Luke 14:16-24. There is yet a final and merciful end-time worldwide ingathering of souls for the Marriage Supper of the Lamb BEFORE Daniel’s 70th Week launches (we’ll be feasting at his table during the horrific evets of the seven-year tribulation (Daniel’s 70th Week)).
Yes, and under my radar.
The basis of my predictions is pretty simple straight-line regular season scoring. Trends, injuries, etc. aren’t in there, which is why I think I average 60% over the years and maybe not better. But checking against the media, it looks like a long-term 60% average is pretty good.
One reason I like to do this is it gets me into the games and gives me some insight what to look for. I like that more that predictions themselves actually, but the predictions are also fun I think.
I was a lifelong Braves fan, and among the earliest subscribers to MLB.com.
But MLB’s embrace of wokeness a couple years ago was the final straw against a league that embraced stupid new rules and widespread cheating.
MLB is dead to me.
Cool.
Is the “Estimate” the predicted score (minus the decimal point) or at least the higher the “estimate” is the predicted winner?
Well, I feel better just doing my little old cut and paste on Excel...
Never more than 20 yds. from a bank...
Small creeks and ponds...
In Matt 24:36, is Jesus talking about the Rapture???
How about 24:44?
No dude. Let’s be hermeneutically sound.
The context is the preceding verse, 25: Heaven and earth will pass away.
The second problem is: Jesus is speaking during his earthly ministry. Guess what? There was divine revelation afterwards. The entire New Testament wasn’t even written.
And I assigned neither a day or an hour. I gave a window because mathematically, it can’t be anything else and still conform to Scripture.
We are in the times of the Gentiles where there is no known timetable. Also, your attempts to pinpoint the first part of Jesus second coming to a couple of days (Oct 7-8) does not conform to scripture (Matt 24:36, 44).
You’ve got some problems there my FRiend. On Oct 9, look me up.
Bye Bye Yankees!
Yankees Lose..Th-a-a-a-a-a-a Yankees Lose!
