Alleged Intruder Mauled to Death by Two Dogs, Body Found on Porch: Police

While some dogs are specifically trained to be protection animals, many are protective of their “territories.” That seemed to be the case for two pit bulls.

According to authorities, the unnamed owner came home on the morning of Sept. 24 to find a dead man on his porch. Deputies arrived at around 10:30 a.m. to investigate, according to The Newnan Times-Herald, and it was unclear at first how the man died.

The body was identified as that of Atlanta local 21-year-old Alex Binyam Abraha, who had several active warrants in a neighboring county, and whose motives are unknown, according to WAGA-TV. The owner of the home said he didn’t know the man and had no idea why he would be there.

Investigators say a possible intruder at a home in Georgia was mauled to death by the homeowner’s dogs. They say the resident returned home to find a man dead on his porch. https://t.co/cyhoD9XFtO — FOX 13 Tampa Bay (@FOX13News) October 1, 2021

Initially, authorities treated the case as a potential homicide, but the autopsy reportedly revealed the cause of death was a “dog attack.”

As the investigation progressed, authorities found reason to believe the man had broken into the home, where he’d come face-to-face with the owner’s two pit bulls. According to authorities, after the dogs mauled him, he’d somehow made it back out to the porch, where his body was found.

So many people followed up on the dogs’ statuses, in fact, that Coweta County Government was compelled to issue a public update.

“We want to clarify that in accordance with the Georgia Department of Public Health (Rabies Control), the dogs are required by law to remain in quarantine for 10 days without direct contact to other animals or humans." will be able to retrieve the dogs."

That’s good to know.

People buy pit bulls for a reason.

I could probably save them some bucks on a custom coffin. A couple of sheets of plywood and some paint....

State cops said BS for my state.

The signs warn that the dogs may be in the yard, as in CLOSE THE GATE you fool.

Not a single “beware of dog” sign in sight.
Our castle doctrine is mercilessly wonderful.

However, I do have a “Trespassers will be shot and fed to dogs” sign.
[so barbaric]

Point being, the dogs NEVER are loose in the front yard where the gate the awful & dangerous outside world is.

This dude bypassed no trespassing signs, the gate with a lock hanging in it, and wandered up through the next gate to the smaller of the dog yards and blithely let himself in.

Himself was not aware that anyone was out there skulking around his shop and let the girl out to pee in the morning, like he always does.

Imagine everyone’s surprise.

We even got the guy to sign a paper of no liability for it.

Pits are not really known for being very good guard dogs.

They’re actually too ‘people friendly’ unless trained.

I think they’re American Bulldogs or mixes.

I’ve walked into innumerable yards with Pitties running loose and only got slobbered all over and smacked with wagging whip tails.

My niece has a beautiful rescue dog. Pitbull dog mix. He looks like this:

When she rescued him from an abandoned home, he was all skin and bones. He's doing great now. Very loving pup.

Good move. I’m sure the ambulance chasers just like to huff and puff, hoping for a settlement.

Considering the whole lot of them were running a scam, he was probably just happy to not to be shot, too.

When he finally got out of our yard and hustled down the lane to the road, their van pulled up and they all hauled ass.

We’ve never had a problem with crap like this again.

/God bless the hillbilly porch dogs

Donation for the intruder? I don’t think so. Now if one of the dogs had been killed .... (too harsh?)

Good doggies.

This will be TERRIBLY conflicting for the anti-Pittie types on FR. Do I hate the dogs for disposing of a dindu nuffin breaking in, or do I love then for disposing of a dindu nuffin breaking in? Decisions, decisions. Oh, the huge manatee!

Pits are good at reading intent. Nemo was in the truck one day. I was on a two-story roof. I looked down, and some goof walking past the truck saw him, went over, and shoved his arm in up to the elbow to scratch his ears. I always kept the truck locked so nobody would steal him.

They’re also a good visual deterrent. Some dimwit was speeding on the gravel road in front of the house once. He slid to a stop and I yelled “Slow down!” He got out, walked toward me, and noticed the two block-heads lean out from behind a car to look at him. He executed a perfect ‘about-face’ and returned to his car without a sound. Jehovah’s Witnesses would just walk up and pet them.
